So do we have any rough idea when this awesome project is going to be completed?

As it has been said a million thousand times, it will be done when it's done :)

A million thousand and one.

Is the intended release date no longer May 2012?

I think it is "meant" to be May but, again, who knows.  There are technical things that could happen, delays, and , considering it is being made by volunteers, their everyday lives are a consideration too.

Personally, I am hoping for May 23rd (That's my Birthday) but, don't really care when it comes out, as long as it comes out.

The intended date is now "Summer 2012". May is in summer... But so is August. ;-) Patience!

That's what I thought, but May isn't in Summer.

Edit: Nevermind.  It's a regional thing.....

Trust me, I had a small community access show with my friends and that was only around 30 minutes per episode.  It took me getting to the studio 30 minutes to an hour early for setup, then the taping/production ran anywhere from 20-40 minutes at the studio, there were also pre-production meetings, production/taping of the fake commercials we made and then there was the editing.

I've also done Star Wars lightsaber rotoscoping and let me tell you, it is an evil and painfully slow process.  If you are dealing in NTSC at 29.97 frames per second, that means you manually have to move/tween/tweak a lightsaber blade 30 times for every one second of video.  That isn't even mentioning when the lines of the prop aren't clearly defined when in motion so it is harder to determine where the blade starts/stops.  Then you also have masking for elements in front of the blade itself, which, if it is a person's hand or something small and moving, is also done frame by frame.

Now imagine you are tweaking a Star Wars movie, doing all of the above PLUS new models, CG mattes, working with imperfect source materials to which you don't have the original plates, etc.  Yeah, that takes a BUTT LOAD of time.

So yeah, I know the work behind it and understand that real life might just get in the way of, or be more important than the slamming your brain against the wall that the project can be sometimes.  Sometimes, you just need a break from the work.

This is why all my work is done in 5 fps. ;)

Wow, the fastest rotoscoper of them all.

You mean choppiest!?  I know games from the 1990s with a better frame rate than 5fps!  LOL

talk about exhausting, I just read through the updated changes list on the first page and had to ask a question of Ady, because it relates to a continuity issue that I bought up many moons ago.

203 - Added droids to exterior medical frigate window shot as it pans from the Falcon

have you been able to add Lando into the cockpit of the Falcon during that shot? as the scenes switch between well lit closeups of Lando doing pre-flight adjustments whilst talking to Luke and Leia over the comlink then switches to an exterior panning shot of the Falcon and it's cockpit is dark and empty.

at the time Ady acknowledged the scene would be fixed, just wondering if it has?

The fact he's doing this all by himself is unimaginable, I'll have infinite patience for this guy to finish whenever he can and be more than appreciative when its is!

This is going to be a bit confusing because A) CeejayNightwing is wearing one of Ady's old avatars and B) It's two years out of date.

Also, Ady's not really working on his own. Someone else does the CG, and the crew in Cali does the new live-action footage.

Oh and 005 is probably properly titled "Social Media Manager", or "Webmaster" if this was the 90s.

Not to mention all the donations of funds and equipment made over the years by people here and elsewhere.

Except for Facebook. Ganamae and MuddyKnees are taking care of it. I've still got the rest.
