I'm sure that this shot was like this in the original, but it just looks really out of place.

The scenes before and after it, the sky is a nice blue, but this closeup it is very red.  If it was supposed to be like that as per the original, that's fine by me, just is a bit off to me.

Yes, it IS correct - this scene always had red sky

Is there any particular trick uloz?  Been trying  since last night and I think the most I've been able to get before the connection crapped out is 200mb.

I've had trouble with the captcha a couple times in the past (with it not recognizing my validation code), but once it starts downloading it's always been good for me.  Are you sure your internet connection isn't crapping out on you?

Yeah, I don't know where I'm gonna upload now, because RS went absolutely crap and limited the dl speed to 30Kbps for free users, in other words, it is impossible to dl anything from there unless you have a paid account. Uloz.to kind of sucks too and MU is dead.

Just finished watching WP3R2. Everything's looking very good. Harmy, if you snuck in any re-specializations, I missed them :)

I did notice flickering in many scenes, as others have already pointed out. Didn't see it mentioned for these scenes though:

  • 24:46-25:07 - Flickering walls in Luke's garage.
  • 27:53, 28:04, 28:10 - Flickering rocks behind sandpeople.
  • 28:08 - Flickering rocks in the foreground.
  • Obi-Wan's brown cloak flickers almost constantly in these desert shots. It seems the almost-black shadows flicker the most.

The skin tones look very good in these desert scenes this time around.

I'm wondering if the shake added to the exterior shot of Ben's hut is a little overdone.

USENET is always appreciated. These days, hard to find a free provider, most ISPs are dropping it. But still, always appreciated. ;)

Fileserve is another possibility.  Decent speeds and no file size limits, unless I'm mistaken.

But I would have to agree with Stiletto -- newsgroups, although you have to pay for them, seem like one of the better ways to go these days.  Adywan released the DVD9 of SW:Revisited that way and I have to say it was a pretty easy, quick, and painless way of doing it.

Well in my country no provider has an idea what usenet is.

Do you know mediafire ?

What pittrek says (and the situation in his country is pretty much the same as my country, since we used to be the same country).

MediaFire, absolutely. Full speed up- and downloads, no countdowns, no captchas. Go for it!

Mediafire is definitely the best option if you're not wanting to pay, though it's a shame their upload limit is 200mb.

What about creating a shared file with a dropbox account?  I'm sure that there is enough people in here to chip in to pay for the subscription fee.  I know that I would! That way you would be able to share the link for the file, and anybody would be able to download it.

Mediafire sounds pretty good. A 200mb limit is unfortunate, especially for a 25GB BD but it's not impossible.

I was also thinking, how difficult would it be to create a sort of a Blu-Ray skeleton, so that people who have the MKV (which will have the same video stream for the main movie as the BD) could simply download that and then mux it together to create a fully functioning BD?  Would that be possible?

@ Harmy

Amazing work, I've never been a huge fan of Episode IV but your colour correction seems to have changed my mind.

Did you notice the strange artifact at 25:49:20?

If mediafire speed is good, 200mb it's not so bad... ;-) Specially for the AVCHD project.

Tsmuxer can convert a mkv file into a BD or AVCHD in minutes, for an emergency solution it's ok, but just to make a disc without menus.

By the way, I'm downloading WP3 reel 2 right now! Can't wait to watch it!! The pics of Luke in Tatooine looks fantastic!

So as I understand it's just Episode IV getting the reworked V 2.0?

Cant wait until its done!

First of all thank you Harmy, WP3R2 really is great :-)

Well, I think there is a possibility to release it the way Harmy thought of. However I have never tried that personally, so it should be tested before release.

He could author a BD with menus and everything and save it to a folder, using whatever authoring software he wants to. Then he could delete the m2ts for the main movie, rar the rest of the files and upload them.

People would then take the mkv and remux it to m2ts using TsMuxer. Then they'd copy it in the appropriate folder. The last step would be to use Imageburn and create an iso.

About the upload: How long do you have to wait at mediafire before you can download the next file?

I would really go for usenet, at least as a second way of distribution. Yes, many ISPs don't offer usenet access anymore, but since they didn't cover binary groups this doesn't really matter here, does it? To download binaries/files you have to pay (or get a free test account). However, prices are rather low I'd say and files have a very high retention of rougly 3 years or even more for some providers.

@djchaseb: No, the whole OT will be reworked as v2.0

Not sure if anyone has asked but will the BD25 version have any special features? Because I had planned to make my own using the MKV version with the Making of Star Wars featurette and Deleted/Extended scenes from the Complete Saga set and the Trailers/TV spots from the 2004 DVD (just to make it feel more complete) and just wanted to know if it was worth downloading the BD25 version instead.

I'm hoping that what Jan said will work (I will of course test it first), so if you already had the mkv, you wouldn't be downloading the whole BD but only the menus and extras (and yes, there would be some). I'm not sure how exactly it would work with sound and subtitle files though - I have no idea how the BD structure works.

Subtitles need to be in PGS (Presentation Graphic Stream) format for blu-ray.

When we drag your mkv onto tsMuxeR, the video, audio, chapters and subtitle streams should show up. But you may need to provide the DTS-HD MA track as a separate download if you're only going to include PCM, AC3 or core DTS audio tracks with the mkv.

You could also provide an even smaller version of the BDMV folder structure for those of us who also already have any of the extras you're going to be authoring with. In other words, the STREAM folder would only need to have the menu m2ts video files.

Yeah, I do not plan to add any extras that were already released somewhere before.
