This brings up an interesting point. I don't think movies that are re-released with changes should be considered the same film and lumped together in box office sales. In my opinion, The Phantom Menace has not made $1 billion, it made $924 million worldwide, and The Phantom Menace 3D (with digital Yoda) has made $76.4 million as of Feb 2012.
If they had just re-released the plain old 2D Episode I in theaters, it wouldn't have made NEARLY $76.4 million by now. It seems slippery, to me, this lumping together of re-releases.
The same goes for Titanic 3D and Beauty and the Beast 3D. They should count as separate releases as far as gross totals go.
