RIP Whitney Houston

Sad, but part of me is surprised it didn't happen sooner.

Continuing from what I said on the other thread, none of us know for sure what was going on in her mind, in her marriage or in her home.

It wasn't any of our business when she was alive and it's certainly none of our business now that she isn't.

But what she did leave us is a little bit of acting, and some music.

For me as soon as her version of I Will Always Love You comes on the radio I have to destroy the radio (I am aware of Dolly liking Whitney's version but personally I find it painful to the ears and awful in contrast to the original version).

However if I Want To Dance With Somebody gets slapped on the turntable I will try my best keep up with the office angels dancing around their handbags.

There is a little piece of her in both of those tracks but I prefer the joyful effervescence of her gospel based dance tracks to her yodeling and warbling.

The greatest love of all is not to love yourself by the way.

My sympathies for her family Wasn't my style of music, but she was obviously very talented.   It sad when someone so talented has has such a downfall and dies so young.   R. I. P.   : (

Young?!?!?!...She was old and haggered man!!!

Was her choice in life.....Feel sorry for her family, but that's it....

Unfortunatly it does mean we have to endure endless plays of her shitty songs.....

I guess 48 is old to some people but as someone fast approaching that age I wish I was as haggard to that degree.

When I went outside to wheel the recycle bin outside the Chateau drawbridge yesterday I caught sight of myself in the cruelly positioned mirror in the vestibule.

I looked like Christopher Lee's mini-me.

The state of my visage varies according to the levels of artificial colours and preservatives that are blended into the mix and if I keep my mouth closed.

... no, no.  Just according to your lazyness regarding your recently born beard.

She was 48, that is a rather young age to die.

Yes, she made mistakes, that doesn't mean she deserved to die or that we can't feel sorry for her.

You don't have to endure that at all.  Anytime you a tv or radio station plays one her songs,  just switch it off or change channels.   I have yet to her a single one of her songs.

and again, while  her music is not my style wouldn't call it shitty.

Do you consider this shitty?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jeUINzHK9o

There is a reason why people don't shake their booty to the majority of National Anthems.

I guess bears will have more cocaine now.

Now, now, we all have our vices.

I had two Jaffa Cakes this evening and I wouldn't want anyone to hold that against me.

Knowing nothing about her personal life outside a vague understanding she's had a drug problem for years, it's always a pity when a gifted person loses themselves to that crap.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

Mortality sucks.

Nice people stop living and not so nice people are denied the chance to improve.

I'm thinking of suing the manufacturer.

Maybe I could switch off crap music by the likes of Whitney and Mariah frickin' Carey, but I'm sure my boss would just switch it back on.

I don't get why I should care. People die all the time, that's life. Unless the person had a profound effect on your life, there is absolutely no obligation to care.

I say never release the originals. Keep the fans talking about something.

That's actually the opposite of life.

*sigh*

a person does not have to have had a profound effect on my life for me to care if they die.   I don't understand how you could say something so caviler.

While you do have a right to feel whatever way you what, if you do feel this way,  how bout you just don't post in threads like these?

I think he means, "Why do we care so much about a celebrity while not giving a darn for other people who done much good in their lives but have never been so famous?"

Warbler, were you aware that an ICE agent was killed in California today?  It even made the news.  Instead of spending his days addicted to drugs, he probably (key word) was largely a law-abiding citizen with a wife and kids.  Of course I don't know this, but nevertheless, such things do happen daily to better people than Whitney Houston.  Do you think they're going to fly the flag at half mast in CA?  Heck, the governor would probably order the Mexican flag put up instead in celebration.  *Okay, I know that's extreme, but we know how most of CA feels about illegal immigration.*

Oh, since I've never had the honor...*clears throat*...WRONG PICTURE!

You can set your watch by it. Every time someone famous dies there's the "why should I care?" holier-than-thou post.
