Finnish subtitles are pretty bad, they originate from 1995 VHS release and some of the lines are too vague. For example, 3PO says he found that negative axis had been polarized or something like that, and it was translated to that there was a wrong connection.
I've been waiting for doing good subtitles for myself but it's pretty hard doing them using the software I have. Maybe there are better subtitle programs for BDs, any suggestions?

I like Gaupol for editing (text only), easySUP for rendering to graphics. But really there are tons of editors on the text side. Let's not derail this too much--You_Too actually prefers simple text files and he will render them himself.
Yep, I just want them in SRT, then I'll render them. And pittrek: Sure, feel free to send the those subs in SRT format if you have them. As long as they're from the GOUT. If they aren't synched to the NTSC version I can do that easily.
They can't be from the GOUT, because the GOUT never came out here. I would have offered you Czech subs myself but I don't have any that I trust to be correct.

Anyway, to everyone who wants to contribute: Make sure the subs are good, and preferably ripped from the GOUT discs. Usually, the subs found on subscene and such sites are fanmade, full of typos and errors, and are most likely translated from the SE DVDs.
The GOUT never came out here nor were the CZ subs included on any foreign release, so only those of the most hardcore fans, who were willing to order from abroad and don't mind the lack of CZ support have the original versions on DVD here.

Actually I ripped the CZ subs from the SE DVD, removed the special edition-added lines, and synchronized the new track with English subtitles ripped from the GOUT. I have also done Slovak subtitles but only for Greedo's lines - I was lazy :-)

That sounds good enough. Did you also change the lines that are different? Like in ESB when the swamp monster spits out R2 and Luke's line is changed. And also, does the subs include the crawl?
By the way, are you the same pittrek who did the Queen at Earls court remaster? I got those DVDs a few years back and really enjoyed them.
I have done only Star Wars, not the other movies. And yes, I'm the guy who did all the Queen DVDs and audios which are suddenly everywhere on the internet

Are we approaching the time when we could see some screencaps? I'm excited to see the new colors (and the burnt-in subs, but that's just me).

Sorry, I see now that the previous screencap teasers were from You_Too, not DJ. Does this mean there will be no more previews before the final product is released?

Thanks vbangle, I am unfortunately having to put some on temporary ignore for the time being, some of these requests are wearing very thin on my patience, especially since I already explained how it will work.

Yeah, if there's anyone who at least knows italian, maybe you could ask in some italian Star Wars forum if they could rip the subs from their GOUT discs or something.
@none: That's for the SE DVDs. I can instantly tell that because it doesn't include the crawl. I've searched around all the web and only found SE DVD italian subs.
Well if we can't find it(Italian subs) lets just scrap it, we have plenty of other stuff that needs a lot of of our time to finish, so if no one can provide any then lets just use what we have and move on, I would love to make a test BD of SW sometime soon lol, very anxious to see the new color on my HDTV and not my PC monitor and to look over the new menu's, as well as hear the new audio.
So lets give it just a couple more days You_Too and then move onto some other portion of the project.
Yep, I agree. There's lots to do.
OH, and for those following that have the V1 Set, yes the menu's are getting a little overhaul, mainly to include subtitles.
So the changes from V1 to V2 are primarily this,
1. drastically re colored, a lot more vibrant and more theatrical. (Thanks to You_Too) plus some other enhancements with cropping etc.
2. now for the first time ever on any of my projects, it will include subtitles.
3. redoing some of the audio because now I have better rips and not captures, plus I think we are getting updated files from hairy_hen at some point and I will encode a new DTS-HD MA 5.1 file.
4. slightly revamped BD menu's.
The Italian SE subs are what 98% correct, just a few need to be removed, then the rest time shifted? but will keep looking.
I've understood that the V1 BD's were sent to a few people for testing but that they won't be made publicly available.
will it be the same for the V2 or they will be available at Myspleen like the v3 dvd's?
Don't know what to expect with some of the heated comments i've read
