Fantastic looking machine. I know how difficult it can be for building a system from scratch so congrats on your first. I nearly built my own a few months ago, but wound up having to buy one instead.

I think that should be nicknamed the GOUT-killer.

Yep, that sure is one badass rig.

Anyway, I thought I'd post a couple new teaser pics from the upcoming "GOUT-killer" blu-rays to celebrate this. :)

This time it's a couple matte-shots. Raw GOUT upscale on top and new script on bottom.

We still call this script preliminary though, since we need to test it once DJ gets his rig fired up.

I assume we're also still waiting on new audio from h_h before anything final?

Well besides the video being all redone I would like to use h_h's new audio to encode a new DTS-HD MA 5.1 track, but if it does not happen, then it does not happen, but I am also redoing some of the other optional tracks using higher quality rips.

DJ, good to hear you've got your new machine up and running :-)

When you're done with them, would you please be willing to share your audio tracks with me? My project is GOUT synced, so they should fit without problems.

Also, U2, these pics look great!

First, holy crap at that new PC, dark_jedi!  I've got some serious tech envy going on right now.  Congrats!  I especially like the case and how cleanly all of the components fit in there.  I'll have to keep that one in mind when I build my new machine.  And yeah, Diablo III will look amazing on that thing.  I'm going to try and upgrade before it releases as well.

Second, that new script is producing great results!  I loved the V1 Blu-rays, but this is looking exceptional so far.  Keep up the good work, guys!

Does anyone know if h_h's new mix is lossless-sourced? Otherwise maybe there's no reason to make a DTS-HD MA track of it?

I think h_h's old SW mix was in AC3 448kbps.

You might want to space out those hard drives a bit for better cooling but yeah, we are all drooling, thanks DJ...:)

I'm going to go for a walk, maybe then I won't be so jealous of DJ's rig...

Thanks again vbangle for the hard drive tip, they are now spaced apart, and it also looks better lol.

You're welcome DJ. I wish you all the best with your new computer. It should prove tons of fun.

Of course by this time next year there will be tablets that have twice the power of your new rig....lol

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

DJ, I'm sure you won't but just a quick reminder, don't run the machine for extended periods with the cover off. It's important the casing cover be put back on because it forces airflow from the front of the case (away from the drives) out the back fan. If (later) you find heating a problem - esp on the drives, the large back fan just needs higher RPM. I've been working in the storage and RAID industry for 15 years - overheating is the second most common cause of disk drive problems after repeated start-stop mechanical reasons.

EDIT: After looking at your PC, I have to go take a cold shower... ;P

No worries, it definitely will not be staying open, I am moving it into my PC room now to fire it up and load Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit, once I see it is running cool and no other weirdness then the side panel will get put on, I am no hillbilly lol I run my sports car with the hood on, not like all those idiots that have to cruise around with the hoods off.

I'm trying to make my own restored fan edit. Where can I get a 5.1 PCM audio track of ESB that can be pulled up in Sony Vegas Pro 10?

Well I am sorry to let everyone know, but it is going to be a while longer before I can get to work on BLU V2, as powerful as this PC is going to be, and as nice looking as it is lol, the fracking thing will not install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, it just freezes on the first screen, the one where it asks for language, time zone, etc. and the only way out is to kill the power.

But on the bright side at least the bios detects the 3 hard drives, my 2 burners, and all 16 GB's of RAM, and the CPU was running at around 18-20c, granted it was only on at the longest a half hour to 45 mins and not under a load.

So that is where I am at, hopefully I can figure this out sometime soon.

Sorry Guys

I know you don't need any help but with all that ram I'd take out all but one stick, ( or do they have to run in pairs?) and try that. The other thing possibly hanging is your video cards. Try running just one for install.

And last but not least boot into safe mode and installing windows from there might help.

Thanks vbangle, I did try 1 video card, and safe mode, but not together lol, and I have not pulled any memory yet, You_Too told me to try that to, but I was hoping to figure it out without that lol, then I have to drop the radiator and un do the wires in the back, out of curiosity I thought Win 7 64 bit can handle a ton of RAM, is this not the case?

Thanks again.

Still a no go, I used You_Too bios settings, and removed all but 1 4GB stick, and removed 1 video card and sli bridge, and it still will not install friggin Windows 7.

Looks like I have exhausted all suggestions, damn this sux!

did you try just one DIMM or did you cycle through the three others? Its a 1:4 chance the one you put in was the bad one?

I wrote you quite a long PM but i guess you_to beat me to the answer

...PS you can also try running it with the other Video card, the one in there now could be a bad one and the one sitting on your bench might be the good one?

I hate to say this but...it is possible that it is a memory issue but not the memory's fault. I really hate to say this but becuase of the way it is failing it might be a bad main board. The main board could be a dud. But please don't go and rip everything apart just yet. You really want to wait and do that as a last resort. Do you have a known good memory stick that you could try? It just really sounds like a memory problem to me.

Also if you have a large enough USB thumb drive you could install Win7 onto it and then tell your bios to boot from USB and see if your new rig can run off the stick. even in safe mode with networking or something.

Sorry again about the problems with your rig, but you'll get it fixed, its just a bitch right now and kinda takes the fun away for a while...been there.

Get the Ubuntu Install disk and run the memory test.. the memtest takes a long while, but you will know for sure if there is a HW issue with the RAM.

Another possibility is whether the disk is a win7 pro 64 bit but SP1? I'd trust SP1 right now over non-SP1 for better support for Sandy Bridge. Regardless, even with SP1, especially the newer Intel chipsets, you may need a boot-driver for AHCI. I did have to manually load drives on at least one occasion with Win7 SP1..

Other than that, yes, 64bit Windows support a crap load of RAM

Actually guys I might have found what's wrong. Just waiting for DJ to see the pm and reply!

After googling around I found this guy who had plugged his keyboard and mouse into the USB 3.0 inputs on the back of his motherboard and tried to install windows 7. He described it just like DJ, that it "froze" once the first install screen comes up and he couldn't use the keyboard or mouse, since windows 7 doesn't have native USB 3.0 support.

With all my heart, I hope this is what's wrong since it's so easily fixed.

Ha Ha god i remember windows 98 not having native SATA support and there were floppy disks and wire pulling... it was then i learned about hard drive imaging lol

I agree with you_to your preph's might not be responding, because the fact that your system is posting as all is a really good thing alone. When i fire up a new PC i wait for the telegraphs of death from the case spaker :-S

Good luck!

P.S. if all else fails i still stand my cycling through your ram and video cards...not at the same time of course... because then how will you know what fixed it? lol

Continuing wishes of good luck :-)

Bingo! Yep. Damn it why didn't I think of that? Makes perfect sense. I have had keyboard errors too at boot. At least now DJ can stop tinkering with it and have some fun with it finally.

That's quite right! I had that before also..

Besides, it's a huge waste to use USB 3 ports to run keyboard and mouse.. :D
