Anyone know if there will be different versions ie: the small tweaks version and the full on new models and shots version?
There will be only one version of ESBR. All or nothing, though the nature of fan edits means that others could make their own "small tweaks" version.

Gorgeous work, Ady! I know I say this every time, but the color correction alone is spectacular -- it makes the video look so much cleaner, and really takes me back to the feeling I had watching the films way back when. Thanks for all your hard work!

Love that you delayed Yoda's head turning when Luke falls. It always looked so "motion-controlled" before the way he turned away and came to a hard stop staring at nothing.

Great work, adywan.

Yep this is the end of the world as we know it. Hell has frozen over. I actually agree with fishmanlee on something.

Thanks to the red shifted and faded GOUT and the abominations that are the DVD & Blu-Rays, the true colour of dagobah has been lost. But thankfully i have been privileged to have the opportunity to work on Puggo's latest 16mm transfer of ESB, which is a glorious print and you would be surprised just how great the colours of the original version of ESB looked. As you can see here Revisited is pretty close to how this movie originally looked all those years ago (thanks to Puggo for allowing me to post the screenshots from his version)

Another thing is the skies during the approach to Cloud City. The whole scene on the blu-ray/DVD has had a strong red filter added. But the skies were originally blue in most of the shots.

Oh and here is the second clip:

Thanks for the comparisons Adywan. Yes when you set them up like that it is striking to see the differences.

And after seeing your Dagaboh comparison I like what you did and can appreciate how you see the colors....but I wish every time I see R2-D2 that his red eye was indeed red. It seems like (in any edit) its always some shade of purple or pink or even a light red instead a vibrant brilliant red. R2-D2 red eye in the Puggo example looks more like what I hope to see in any edit.

Also while I have your ear thank you Adywan for your continued efforts on this. I always like how bright and striking your star fields are in your edits and after seeing your latest clip you didn't disappoint. Thank you Adywan.

I love everybody. Lets all smoke some reefer and chill. Hug and kisses for everybody.

I thought the TIEs were going back to being grey?

I thought so too, I recall Ady settling on grey the last time this debate happened, so why the switch back?

Agreed, and it also seems like R2 has a purplish light at times when it should be blue. ANH:R had the perfect balance of red and blue for R2's light, I hope it'll be similar in ESB:R.

And thanks for this one too! :)

Looks awesome, with lots of great touches.  I'll be back with a couple of points about this one when I've got more time, but will need to study it more.

Monroville and The Golden Idol, you must have missed the memo where it was decided to stick to the overall TIE colour seen in ESB, after all.  If I remember right, adywan ended up thinking they stood out better from everything else if kept that colour...and is intending to actually ADD this colour to the ones in his next version of STAR WARS:REVISITED instead!

I kinda seem to recall that they were going to be a shade in-between the grey and what we see here though, but I must be mistaken.  Perhaps he'll clarify this at some point.  The work looks terrific however.

I remember ImpFighter... then he changed his mind again and said they would go back to grey.

Personally, I do not like the blue TIEs at all; the color makes them look more like models (imagine the air force or navy painting an F-15 that color).  The TIE bombers and the newer ones in JEDI are one thing, but retconning ANH is something else.  Forget about EU stuff... just visually I rather have continuity with ANH than go in reverse.  Even if they are to remain blue or bluish, PLEASE don't change their color when you get around to ANH:720p.

Ady says the video is 100% complete, while the audio is still temp.

Wouldn't there still be a slight orange tint to the Falcon due to the ambient light reflected from the orange clouds?

Here is an example:

Really?, then I guess I missed that.

However, having had a chance to have a closer look at the clip, it seems to me as if the 'Revisited' colour of the standard TIEs actually varies in certain shots of this preview.  It looks as if it's the exact shade of blue as the existing SE version in some shots, and slighty less so in others.  But there's quite a lean towards a greyer TIE colouring during the shot of the close-up of the 'Executor's underside.  To be honest, I kinda like the shade in that particular shot the best, but pause the comparison to see what I mean.

I'm sure adywan will confirm about this either way, when he gets a chance.

It's kinda strange watching clip 1, seeing Yoda.....he feels like a real actor.....like a whizened green Sir Alec.....especially after seeing the CG Yoda sell Vodafone (with better graphics than used in the prequels).....embarrassing how much Lucas is using the faceless characters for every advertisement campaign

I agree. It seems to stand out as too neutral. A little bit of an orange tint seems like it would help the Falcon sit in the shot better.

First clip looks fantastic. I especially love Yoda's subtle new blink.

Is there any chance of the second clip being posted to Vimeo, as was the first, for those of us who can't use hotfile?

That clip is awesome!!

I have been waiting for a long, long time for Yoda to look as he should and Ady has done it perfectly.

I really cannot believe how much attention to detail he puts into everything he does. Truly remarkable.

Wow very nice job, the colors are really close to the actual film. But yours have a few additions to it. Very nice job!

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

I have gone back and tweaked every shot of R2 in the movie to give him a redder eye and also remove most of the shots where the eye looks purple when it should be blue.

There is quite a bit of an orange tint to the falcon in that clip. It might be due to seeing how tinted the falcon is in the blu-ray clip, thanks to the heavy handed all over filter used for the DVDs,  that makes it look too neutral. here is a comparison between the tinted falcon as seen in the clip (top) and the falcon as it appears without the tint.

The same colouring was applied to the falcon in all shots in the clip.

Just watched clip 2.rar and it looks great!  One minor observance: In the wide shot where Vader is looking out the windows, the Star Destroyer only appears in one window, but shouldn't the back of it be in the next window over similar to how it is in the blu-ray version above it?  It is hard to tell if it should be there because it might be right on the edge of needing to be there.
