I'm also assuming that, if I download the MKV, I could demux the streams and make my own barebones Blu Ray that I can live with until the fancy one comes out, and #2 and #3 would have the same video quality.

Only if harmy encodes the mkv with black bars so that its fits the 16:9 BD requisite format. Otherwise you'll have to re-encode.

I thought about it. Possibly but I'm not decided yet. Maybe, similarly to what I have planned for foreign dubs, it could be available as a separate download that anyone can mux in themselves.

Separate, uncompessed audio sounds like a great idea.

Please make a BD release, even if it is weeks later. Please, please, please.

It's not so important, If a MKV around 15GB it's released, you can convert it into blu-ray with tsmuxer in minutes, and you can add the 2.0 LPCM 93 mix, dubbings or whatever you want to increase the size of it... ;-)

Wouldn't be as good though. If he made it straight for a  BD25 with MPEG4 AVC and whatever lossless audio codec he chooses, with a menu and everything, that would be ideal. You could just DL it, toss it on a BD, and play it straight away... no having to mess around with anything. I'm super lazy.

If you did this Harmy and you don't have a BD burner yourself I'd make you a copy and ship it to you for free. That would be fantastic.

I finally seem to have found a way to increase saturation in Premiere without introducing those artefacts, so if you find a scene or shot that you think could use a saturation boost, feel free to point it out :-)

Getting back to this once more: I've found out that the free tool RawTherapee has a "Vibrancy" function among its color correction tools and allows for batch processing of image sequences. Might not be as elegant and fast as having it right there in Premiere or AfterEffects, but it could be worth a try.

If one is going to create an MKV file, it might be nice to go ahead and break it into 4GB chunks and create a simple playlist file; this way people can put them on flash media and plug them into compatible displays or hardware media players, without encountering the file system limitations often inherent. Saves a lot of hassle.

Well, it saves a lot of hassle for the people who need it but adds a lot of hassle for me and others, especially since it'd make it much more difficult to add different audio and subtitle tracks. So anyone who needs this kind of thing can do it themselves.

Ah, gotcha. I'm not too technically oriented, so I'm not exactly sure of what goes into making this. :/

It should be really easy to do with MKV Merge but only after you've already added all the tracks you want in there, so it's best for everyone to do it themselves.

That is a good idea. I demuxed your version 1.0 back then and remuxed the english audio and the audio in my motherlanguage. That worked very well with Megui and I like your idea for your version 2.0.

All the links are down.

Now, I deleted all the MU links from tehparadox (they were offline anyway) and I'll probably wait a while and see how the situation is going to develop before re-uploading anywhere else (I probably won't even bother reuploading SW v1.0).

Good choice, Harmy... Also, it gives you more time to work on 2.0 without interruption ;)

In case you still need storage, Mediafire.com works pretty well.

No, it's a discussion forum type place.

One of the things which makes the place great are AMA's. (Ask Me Anything)  Where someone of some importance or having an interesting situation will stay logged in for a few hours and answer anything people ask.  Some recent AMA's have been Neil deGrasse Tyson (astrophysicist and head of Hayden Planetarium) to Takeru Kobayashi (professional eater)

So as you get closer to a release of v2, that might be a place to reach a different audience.

New Yorkers both. (Well not Kobayashi but I associate him with Coney Island for obvious reasons.)

Btw Harmy, as it was brought up on that thread, do you have an official stance on how vocal/quiet you'd like people to be about your work?

It would probably be better to keep the talk about DeEd off any official SW sites. The "now I don't have to buy the blu-rays and GL can kiss my ass because I have this version" kind of post are especially worrisome and should be avoided. The official stance (both mine and this site's) is that in order to download these, you should have the official blu-rays and I'd prefer this stance to be repeated every time this is posted about (obviously not in every post of every thread everywhere but in the first post or the first time mentioning it).

Please keep in mind that suggesting GL kiss your ass is still kosher; it's just the not buying the Blu Ray part that's objectionable.  They make good Christmas tree decorations and coasters, I see no reason why you shouldn't buy them.

Actually I wonder of someone fitted the Blu Rays with a nice absorbent cork backing, they might be able to resell them at a profit...

Harmy are you still using the same 9 sources for V2 or different ones?

Author
Time

Oh could you update the OP with more recent info on V2 then, if it's not too much work.

Author

Have you considered using the X9 JSC for any shots?

Author

Never seen the X9 transfer but just like the one shot I used from V8, it would probably need extensive cleanup before being usable, so I'm not sure it would really improve anything.

OK, here's the next half an hour of the WP:

http://www.uloz.to/12777696/deed-v2-0-wp2-2-mp4

It's basically a continuation of the 2nd WP and shows the Death Star sequence. Because it's not the whole film from the beginning, I decided to use a hardcoded timecode. Also, the colours are not final, I'd like you to focus on any technical errors if you can.
