Action Genre is Dead.
somehow I find that I little difficult to believe.
It's been dead for awhile.
The funny thing is that Chuck Norris refused to do the movie if it were R. So, the guy who became an internet legend with jokes about his toughness is actually a big pussy.

Bruce Lee was always better than Cunt Norris ;)
But yeah I think the action genre has long been killed by Hollywood's need to create action movies with nothing but special affects and no storyline, dialog, acting required. Special Effects and explosions and everything else is low priority. Look at how horrible the Transformer movies are.

With the single exception of porn, all film genres are dead.

Nah, that too.
There's just no fun in it since they got rid of the moustaches and public hair.

Makes no sense, as most of his filmography is R rated.
Where were you in '77?
It looks as if Prometheus is going down that route too.

NO!
The best action movies of the 2000s were probably the Bourne movies, Nolan's Batmans, and Casino Royale. Maybe throw Kill Bill Vol 1 in there. All except Kill Bill were not R.
Expendables 2 can still be a great movie. If people are looking for violence, the PG-13 rating will hardly be a deterrent given what we see today. The lack of swear words shouldn't be an issue.
The real problem with the first Expendables was that every character besides Stallone and Statham was, well, expendable. The script was weak.
Expendables 2 needs to give more balanced screentime, and that will be difficult given that the number of high profile stars has increased.
I'm just excited to see Van Damme in there. I hope he gets to do some cool things. I grew up loving Van Damme movies and still give people the dim mak when I can. BWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
