Oops, my question was a little confusing.  I'm referring to the Ewoks cartoon which was transferred from VHS by Pittrek.  I guess it goes without saying that since it's a cartoon, the discrepancy in quality wouldn't be as noticeable anyway.

The VHS I myself was wondering might be usable is from the Star Wars Interactive Video Board Game: Assault on the Death Star, which by the way is a ridiculously long name.  I contacted someone via boardgamegeek.com who said he'd send me a torrent and seed it for me.  But the original source is a VHS.  Even if this version isn't that high quality, it would be nice to see if there is anything on there worth grabbing for our edit, either video or audio.  From what I read, they filmed new Prouse footage and recorded new Jones lines.

The audio would be nice, but if there's even just a couple seconds of Vader walking down a Death Star hall (as it appears to have in the picture), I know it would help solve a problem I've considered with my script.  Of course that depends on if Vader walking down the hall can be upscaled and cropped, which it sounds like is not doable.

EDIT: I guess in order to preserve what quality remains in captured VHS footage, a shot as simple as a corridor could probably be widened with CGI.  So the question would just be upscaling.
