the Star Wars franchise has always been considered a licence to print money, although obviously they didn't figure out that weren't huge amounts of money to be made from TV when they first got excited about the concept years ago.
Although I still don't believe that they wouldn't recoup their costs once international TV rights, DVD and associated merchandising returns were factored in . Although it does show what we've long since suspected in that George's passion for the Star Wars universe only exists if there is a quick buck to be made.
I always assumed that the live action show was gonna be more character driven and less about big budget action & effects, but given George's inability to write convincing dialogue and interesting characters as evidenced by the prequels, then it probably isn't surprising he wants to go the special effects blockbuster route.
If the "Underworld" scripts are that great, for what sounds like it could turn out to be "THE BOBA FETT SHOW" then maybe he needs to wind up the CLONE WARS animated series and do UNDERWORLD as a cartoon, i think another animated series wouldn't be dissapointing to fans as much as the live-action show has the potential to do.
