I worked at a theater for most of the 90's, and at least while I was was there, there was no way in freakin' hell anyone could get away with keeping a print. Even if a print was nearly destroyed from a projector malfunction, whatever was left had to be returned to the studio, and then you might have to pay $1500-$2500 in print replacement.
