Another quick suggestion:

I've noticed that there are quite a few shots where you can see clouds in the sky, yet in most if not all of these side shots of the snowspeeders there are no clouds in the sky.

Is there any possibility to add a sky background element to these shots?

And kudos to Jaitea.  Great mock-up on the AT-AT foot!  Is there any way to make it bigger, or is it one of those things where it becomes to big to manipulate?  Also, would it be possible to have the foot sink a bit deeper into the snowspeeder (to indicate the weight of the AT-AT coming down on the ss)?

That was awesome looking!!! Another thing that always bugged me about that scene was the fact that the foot just kinda slumps to the... well, right if you were looking from the front of the speeder. You can tell that it was just a foot dropped on top. It would be very cool if, using that photoshop you could keep it a little more straight & even crush the speeder down a little! (just wishfull thinking, but you guys seem to make dreams reality on a daily basis so I thought I throw that out there!)

Yeah Monroville & Darth_Neznarf, the foot could be made larger and create more damage, I just used Savmagoett's calculation as a rough guide for how much to scale it up.....It's up to Ady now If he thinks its worth it

I haven't seen this brought up yet so I thought I'd chime in.

Vader only refers to Boba Fett as "bounty hunter", which then seems odd after Fett's character is built up due to popularity.

Any chance that Vader could refer to him by name?

With all due respect, that would be pointless. The movies should not be tailored simply to provide fan service for popular characters.

Welcome Fettclone1.

Personally, I reckon that Vader looks down on Fett and his cohorts with great disdain due to their way of life, and merely involves them as an additional way to locate Luke and the others a bit quicker.  He already singles out Fett with his 'no disintegrations' order (probably due to knowing of his 'reputation')... but wouldn't deem it necessary to address these 'low life scum' on 'name' terms.

Fett's character built up due to popularity is not the same as being a real character. Since AotC, I've been over Fett love.

Another great reason why I pretend the prequels dont exist. I'd absolutely love it if Ady could make the Fett name dissapear in the prequels. And I feel Vader sounds more threatening if he doesn't use people's names...but simply calls them by their professions. Makes it cold and impersonal...which implies, "if you cross me, you're just that easy to rub out".

One more thing about the AT-AT foot:

I understand that the ambient light from the surrounding snow may counter this, but would the foot cast a shadow over Luke (in his reaction shot) as well as directly over the snowspeeder before crushing it?

Regardless, keep up the fantastic work, Jaitea!  Hopefully Ady will accept and include it into the edit.  Even as your mock-up stands as it is, it works perfectly and I never noticed anything that would even indicate anything was manipulated.

In fact, when I first clicked on your link and watched it, I was wondering: "okay, so what was changed?"  Then I went back to the forum and took a closer look at the original footfall shot and realized how much bigger the AT-AT foot was in your mock-up.

One last thing: I love your alternate sound effects as well.  I can't say I hated the whining hydraulic sound FX, but it didn't seem right.  In fact, shouldn't the AT-AT feet be making louder, bass-ier sounds similar or identical to the sounds they make when the rebels first see (and hear) the AT-ATs?  In fact, do the AT-ATs make any noise after the rebel with the binoculars sees them for the first time?

I hear what you're saying there, but I was talking more about the stature of the character himself.

I realize that much of it was decided in the EU, but Fett is often regarded as "the best bounty hunter..." blah, blah and so on. I don't really see the character that way anymore, but it's a common refrain.

Part of what bothers me about the possibility of Boba not being in ROTJ is that not a single character would even refer to him by name. If Vader himself said it than it would be a more than fair trade-off and I'd be totally on board with the Jedi deletion.

I also understand the idea that Vader looks down on him, but even if you consider Vader himself here he sounds lame saying "bounty hunter" two different times.

I don't know. Guess I can dream.

I actually love the idea that he would never be called by name. Makes him (or her!) more mysterious, threatening and interesting.

Also, Bobba Fett is a silly name and he's better without it ; )

^True, it is a silly name.  Who besides me grew up thinking his name was Bubba Fat?

Many of the names in SW are goofy...lol we're just used to them.

In Spain it was worse: "boba" it's a femenine adjective meaning "silly", and in the films they pronounced "fett" without the "t" ending sound, so it sounded like "fé" (faith)... So altogether, Boba Fett in Spain was "silly faith" :S

That reminded me that I'm hoping that adywan will add the missing grey 'markings' to Luke's Snowspeeder in the shots below -

They're in place during this shot...

...but are missing in these next 2 shots...

...but then appear in place again here...

Had a quick attempt to address this....

Sorry Youtube has blocked this upload....(thought it was the audio they pick up) on...)

I checked and the stripe had not been added in the now-year-and-a-half-old workprint I have. Of course, the project has been restarted twice since then, so I'm not sure how useful my checking can be... ;-)

Thanks for posting the Christmas video, Ady. Of course it looked fantastic. I'm not sure what others were referring to but I saw no problems with Vader's fixed helmet shots - it looked way better now that it doesn't wobble. I knew there were probably a lot of changes I was missing but I didn't know how many until the list of changes were posted.

Jaitea, that was a great mock-up of the larger AT-AT foot crushing the speeder. I hope Ady considers the idea because it looked great.

Thanks for the new clip Jaitea.  That's excellent work.  I'll be very interested to hear what Ady thinks.  I hope he can use it.

And thanks too of course to Ady for the stunning Christmas clip (and the still images), which was the best present I received this year :-)

Nice mock-ups on those grey 'markings' Jaitea (there should be a 3rd one on the top panel too), and matching 'snowlines'.  And I'm hoping the backdrop will match a little better between those shots in the final 'Revisited' version also, perhaps.

For now, I'd just like to wish everyone here a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

...and who'd have thought this thread would reach 1000 pages, considering the ANH:R one is only 377 pages currently?

I've come across a few belly laughs along the way (some unintentional)...so here were 2 of my favourites at the time -

Indeed, looks like we'll hit two numerical landmarks near the New Year.

I agree.
