This is such a typical Christian reaction to any and all criticism.
if you so.
Yep, I so. ;)

Atheist don't rip on Christianity and then think that Islamic and Jewish beliefs are real.
never said they did. My point is that they respect the Islamic and the Jewish faith more than they do the Christian faith. I hardly ever hear comedians make fun of Jews or Muslims, but I hear them make jokes about Christianity all the time.
Comedians make jokes about things they know about and things that people can relate to. Comedian's who make fun of Christianity were usually raised as Christians. There are tons of Jewish comedians that make fun of Jews.
There are also plenty of comedians that make fun of other religions. Even this jackass who I don't dislike because he has a stereotypical terrorist puppet, I just dislike him because he's not funny.

The point you are trying to make (I believe) is that only Christians get ripped on.
no, my point is that is more acceptable to rip Christians than it is Jews or Muslims.

The US is a mostly Christian country AND NOT the persecuted minority you and others would like to believe you are.
I never said Christianity was a persecuted minority.
No but it seems to be the mindset of so many people in this country. That somehow everyone is picking on poor Christians while Muslims and Jews get off easy. Everyone is against Christianity and it's a tough world out there for people worshiping Jesus.

I don't have Muslims or Jews knocking on my door and trying to convert me.
I don't do that myself and neither is my church into that. Normally it is easy to get them to go away. I've had people knock on my door have easily gotten them to go away.
It's more a Mormon issue around here.

There aren't pushy Muslims or Jews standing in front of the local college and all but forcing students to take a tiny copy of the Bible.
again not something I or my church do. I don't believe they really force you to take it.
Some of them are very pushing. I've been in a situation where I just took so they would leave me alone (and then I immediately dropped it on the floor).

I don't have Muslim or Jewish friends telling me I live in sin and trying to talk me into going church every Sunday (and it should be noted that I do have Muslim and Jewish friends.
I don't talk that way to non believers either. But if you did ask your Muslim and Jewish friends straight out, they would agree that you are living in sin and should attend services at synagogue/mosque.
Probably. Evangelical Christians might be the pushiest people ever.

Let's stop pretending that Christians have it worst in this country because that is absolutely ridiculous.
But still, there is a double standard.
There are two different standards because they are two different situations. Christians are largest group in this country and they are widely accepted. Most of my complaints about Christians are superficial. I don't hate Christians (as I've mentioned I have many Christian friends) but many Christians are annoying and others are downright ridiculous. Most rip on Christians is more or less on religion in general.
However Muslims are not widely accepted in this country. There is a lot of fear mongering and hate towards Muslims in this country.
So yes, when people complain about Christians it's usually based on personal experience and I tend to agree but when people shit on Muslims it's more likely to be based on ignorance (even though I would agree their religion is just as silly as the next).

Most atheists/agnostics in this country are either raised in a Christian home or at least have Christianity thrown in their face most of their lives.
and you don't think that could make some atheists prejudice/bigoted against Christianity? I think it could and has.
btw, just because I consider myself a Christian, does not mean that I am like Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson. Their brand of Christianity is not my brand.
Yeah, I realize that you are not the obnoxious style of Christian. I'm sure there are bigots, but I feel like there is more bigotry between religions than there is with atheist towards religion. I think most atheists don't care about religion and at worst just find religious folks to be silly or annoying. It's hard to hate religious people, it's easier to laugh.
