Info & For Sale: $51,000 ESB poster...

People have paid quite a lot more for movie posters from the 20's and 30's.

Whether this poster is that rare and worth the asking price, I have no idea.

Also, I have the feeling we've discussed this before.

Why is it called an "8 sheet" if it's in 3 pieces/sections?

 I was wondering that too.

This is definitely deja vu, and I still think it's way overpriced (& you'd think they'd throw in the postage for free at that price! Jeez....)

A Metropolis poster sold for $690,000.00, but it's one of only 4 known copies. A U.S. version of the poster has never been found and is estimated to be worth at least one million dollars if discovered. Check your local garage sales. ;-)

You're probably thinking of the $42,000 rooster.

Well, if the poster came rolled, I'd think about it... but with all the creases?? No way!

Movie posters were all sent out folded back then. I guess the only way you could've gotten an unfolded one like that would have been at the printers, before it went thru the folding machine.
