Dunno.  Compared to efforts on OT.com, it seemed paltry.  As for WW, I am disappointed, but I did not really follow it at all, other than to see new promo pics.  Cannot say I am surprised.  And ditto what Frink said about shafts. =P

The newest Gaff review.  Twenty minutes of DragonBall, and... wait a second you're a judge for WRTR now?  Awesome!  Also the dragonbox prices are going UP =(.  Box 2 is like... $275.00.  No joke.  I never did grab them because I was holding out for a release that was this nice with the Faulconer score; plus, I'm not even sure if I like Z.  I may grab boxes 6 and 7 though.

Funny that you never did grab them considering you were the person who convinced ME to get them.  =P  Anyway, thanks for posting this.  Sorry I haven't been around lately.

And, yeah, resellers are getting the prices up that high.  On the (becoming more and more frequently rare) chance you find one in stock, though, the prices are pretty good.

Batman Chapter 1 Review!

Geez, has it already been almost three years since I did Batman and Robin?  Well, now I'm going back to where I began, and reviewing what I consider to be the far superior serial... albeit with lots of insane racism running rampant.

Re: Batman serials

I think of movie serials and, feature films/movies as separate things in terms of category. So in spite of me knowing about these sets of movie serials I still consider Adam West to be the first movie Batman. That's my hugely biased view and you can't change it even if you torture me!!! http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/6051/faceiconsmalltongue.gif That said I've only ever watched this one on the uncensored DVD set. It was interesting to see the censored VHS edit bit there.


Edit Oh yeah I also watched WRTR season 1 in "marathon mode" a while back. Congrats on winning it and being a judge for season 2!

Well, I guess I won't torture you this time.  I had a feeling people would dispute serial vs. feature, but since it premiered in theatres, I consider it to count.  And it was also shot on film... =P  But, yeah, it's my plan to continue pointing out differences between the two versions.  There are some more funny line changes, but most of them aren't quite as jaw-droppingly crazy as that first one, I'm disappointed to say.

As for the DBoxes, that does piss me off too.  I guess we here are used to the "limited editions" of George Lucas, which states that a two month limited release will be available for five years.  But to limit them before the entire line is out... that's just wrong.  It would be nice if they would re-release them down the line in a bare-bones slimpack at least.  These masters deserve to be the default DVD release and don't just need to exist for a limited time.

Dawh.  Thank you for the plugs, Mr. bkev.  Glad to see you're still enjoying my stuff.

So a new version of Internet Explorer came out.  I know, I know!  IE has been notorious for being, well, terrible with this forum, but this new version is so bad it won't even let me post here.  I'll write these long tomes of awesome posts and hit the post button only for all my text to disappear, and the forum to tell me I actually need to write something before posting.  So then I get angry, say, "Screw it!" and move on to something else.  So here I am on Firefox, hoping that what I write will stick this time!
