What filming equipment will you be using?

The RED1....and the rest of the equipment to be decided upon once I get a better idea of what kind of shots Ady wishes to see.

Nice 1, that'll future proof it, you shootin' 4k? pity the LFL footage is not up to that standard

I have a dream that one day original Revisited footage will be combined with 35mm fanscans, circumventing the crappy Blu-rays entirely. But I also know that this would only further delay the rest of the Revisited Saga, so... maybe I should not dream.

adywan, I also meant to ask about this shot from the 'chasm' duel scene too -  Is it possible to add a momentary effect of 'fabric burning' and brief hint of 'smoking cauterization' to Luke's sleeve/severed wrist here, somewhat like was seen on your ANH:R 'arm'?...

Good call. Also, Luke's saber shouldn't be transparent as it is in the pic above.

Yup, and it seems to have lost it's white 'core' in that shot too.  But adywan is re-doing every saber shot, which should look great.

Wow. What happened to the core? Never noticed that before.

maybe it went from lightsabre to flashlightsabre...

Aalenfae, some very interesting ideas you had there in your video.

I loved the AT-AT motion blur. I was never particularly troubled by the stop-motion look, maybe partly because I love stop-motion animation, and I was willing to ignore the choppiness in those scenes. But I will say the motion blur really smoothed things out. Very nice suggestion.

I know this doesn't seem like the popular opinion here but I think Vader looks bad-ass when he enters the base and immediately ignites his saber. He is, after all, a warrior. I think in your video, he looks like he's actually hunting for the rebel troops, ready to slay them one by one as they appear. He looks like he really means business. I'd be surprised if Ady would go for that change, but personally I loved it, and I would love to see it incorporated into Ady's edit.

Nice idea about Vader arriving just as the Falcon escapes, too. Looks like he "missed it by that much".

Knowing Adywan, that is one thing that is high on his to-do list, if it hasn't been done already.

I think if anything about that scene needs to be corrected/updated/fixed, it would just be the matte paintings of the chasm. They always looked a little too... papery.

On the same subject as changes, I made up a little video of suggestions for Adywan the other month, if anybody cares to take a look:

Aalenfae this is AWESOME. I especially love the Vader shots, he looks so badass with that saber on. Is there any chance you could upload high quality versions of those shots? I'd love to stick them in my viewing copy of ESB! Great stuff.

Was all excited to see that but the link in the quote above leads to an error page now.

DERP...sorry. Found the fixed one. I really liked the motion blur on the AT-ATs as well. It's subtle in a way that makes it look like how I imagine very expensive modern stop-motion would be like. Extremely fluid but still very much real models.

So that and the weapons on Hoth actually being used are good ideas IMO. The rest don't do much for me. Perfectly fine as they are.

Hey look, a bear!

I cannot believe I have followed this for 4 years already. I am still as excited as I was on day one. Keep up the good work Ady. I look forward to finally seeing your version of ESB as well as the other movies in the saga.

I can't believe the "final" workprint I have is from a year and a half ago. So much has changed with the project!

Question about the workprint... If that had been the final cut; would you be happy?

Besides a couple rough effects, without a doubt.

It's the touches we don't know about that I'm looking forward to the most, assuming we there are some.

And if there are I don't want to find out about them until the big reveal.

Something I learned before ever joining the project: Ady always likes to have a few surprises for the fans. It really keeps the fun in all of this.
