Nice post, and nice rants. I even agree with most of them.

Problem is, people who sent you the (funny) hatemail, are the black and white doormats (as you so nicely described some people) that will hang onto the poor movies. It's just like popular bands. You make one very good song, perhaps even a second and a third(the OT ) and when the fans are hooked they could probably make a fart song with the same tune and it would, according to the fans, be awesome.

And perhaps its just they hang on to the SW church so much, saying that the PT sucks would feel like blasphemy. I must say I feel a bit like this. Ofcourse it's also a matter of taste. I mean, I really enjoy watching B flicks. While alot of people can't stand the bad acting, the poor costumes and the shabby decors. I also think there are two types of fans the so-called true fans and the movie-fans.

For starters, if you don't know the OT (shame on you) the PT are fairly nice movies for the movie-fans. There's action, romance, intrigue and comic relief.
If you DO know the OT, the true-fans don't want the romance and really don't want the Jar Jar Binks crap.

I must say I'm in the middle here, I like quite some scenes in the movies, but as stated above ... for all I care Jar Jar Binks was crushed by that tank in the beginning of the movie. Or if he was to be in the rest of the movie, ritually sacrificed by the Emperor for being an annoying pain in the @ss.

For instance, you have to agree with me that the Yoda fighting scene rocked. And the Clone Army Factory was impressive.
But the romance and picknick scenes we're ... not ... Star Warry ... if you get my point.

And I'll also be standing in line to see it ... because ... maybe ... it'll be good afterall.

There ... back to work again
