Aaaannnyyways, I'm glad he's changing the voice for Boba Fett. It would be stupid not to. If the guy is a clone, and we've all heard all the clones use the same voice, wouldn't it have to make sense that his voice match as well?

I'm tired of people whining about Lucas changing Star Wars. It's his movies. They are still great movies. If they came out in say, 1977 with all the changes he has made, they would still be the uber-hits they are. You all (myself included) would still worship them. Lucas is simply trying to tie all 6 of his films together. He's fleshing out scenes and characters. He's making the films the best he possibly can, in his mind. I'm sure he feels he has grown as a film maker, and thinks that as his final sign off to these films...these things are the way they should be.

If the scene of the Sandstorm in ROTJ is restored, I would also like to see footage added of Boba Fett getting out of the pit. If not into the film, then as a special feature. I'm not sure of when the new TV show is supposed to take place based on him, but if it is after ROTJ this would make sense. If it isn't, then nevermind.

do we really need to see Boba survive the Sarlaac? can't this just be left to the EU novels, it's bad enough we had to endure the beginnings of Boba as a young New Zealand child shouting 'Git im Ded!' I think we need to see the demise of him on film, it's a pity they couldn't have given Audrey 2 (the sarlaac) a set of razor sharp teeth to make sure Boba met his grizzly end.

As for dubbing TESB Boba's dialogue with Temeura Morrison, is it really neccesary?, if that's the case I assume that the original trilogy's storm-troopers aren't descended from the clones otherwise, they'll NEED to be dubbed too! ( besides if they were clones of jango fett wouldn't all the uniformed imperial officers also bear the same resemblance?)

and as for replacing Sebastian Shaw with Hayden in the spirit scene, they'll have to also add him into the Vader unmasking scene, otherwise young Luke's gonna be scratching his head wondering who the fuck is this young guy standing with Obi-wan and Yoda?. the way things are going it's a surprise they are not digitally replacing Sir Alec Guiness with an aged Ewan McGregor.

Who know's maybe in ten years time George'll make special editions of the prequels so that they match the Original Trilogy more closely, and then I won't really care who shoots Jar-Jar first!

Hey, don't compare the new Sarlaac to Audrey 2. Granted, the design is similar, but Audrey 2 looked much more realistic. ^_^ Also, what's the point of dubbing Boba? Hasn't anyone heard of voice changers? Saying that all the stormtroopers are clones is as stupid as when the San Jose Mercury News wanted to know in 1999 why the Empire switched from droids to people. Next, we'll hear there will be a new scene of Boba removing his helmet for no reason simply to tie in to AotC.

Made for IE Forum's Episode III theme month - May 2005.

You know what....Jedi SE will probably have that...I bet we'll see Temura Morrison(SP?) in Jabbas court.

See the voice thing is just stupid.....It's realistic enough for Boba to lose his accent over the 20 years.
Jesus...you can pick up a accent in 6 months if you spend enough time in that particular environment........

Am I talking shit here?!?!?!

I dunno!!

I don't mind the changes too much, but the voice thing is the final straw...it's what made Fett so damn cool..."What if he doesn't survive, he's worth a lot to me"..."He's no good to me dead"...."Put captain Solo in the cargo hold"......it's never gonna be the same.

Bastard!!

Personally I disagree. It makes sense that a Clones voice can change the same way an identical twins voice can be different. I loved Bobas old voice. Still I wouldn't hate this change. The only change idea I hate is Haydens head.

there's no point to change Boba's voice...
they guy has grown up... and when you do go through puberty... you dont keep the same voice...

man the PT has really opened up so many plot holes now...
he should have made the PT blend with the OT... not change around the OT to fit with the PT now...
Lucas is making everything so much harder for himself..

What plot holes? I mean, if he changes the voice for Boba Fett then what plot holes would be left. No one has ever implied that the Stormtroopers are clones. As someone said, over the years I am sure some people would have volunteered to join the Imperial army. Also, wouldn't some of the Clones have aged to the point where they could no longer serve. And with out the host or original being alive, wouldn't it make it hard to continue to create the clones?

I always thought the biggest plot hole was the phrase "He is the one to bring balance to the force." However, I saw a promo thing done by Lucas just the other day filmed in 2001. In it, he explains that Vaders ultimate sacrifice in ROTJ is the fullfillment of the prophecy. He's lot in life was to expose the Sith and removed evil from the galaxy. By giving his life and taking that of the Emperor, he has left only 1 Jedi in the galaxy.

I thought for the first time in a long time that something Lucas explained made sense.

In Attack of the Clones we see clones of all different ages. I assume those Clone fetuses in a jar are the A New Hope stormtroopers.

Clones are grown at an accelerated rate jimbo.

If you recall from AOTC, the clones were "ordered" about 10 years before.
All those guys eating their meals didn't look 10 or less years old.

but why does he need to change Boba's voice???
people grow up... you dont have the same voice you did at the age of like 10 do you?

and when i say plot holes im talking about how he has to alter the originals to make his prequel trilogy fit... it should be the other way around.. he should be altering his prequel trilogy to fit with the movie which started it all...
not the other way around...

I think you are missing the point. He isn't going to make Boba Fett sound like the kid, he's going to sound like the Clone-origin Jango Fett. If you'll notice, all the Clonetroopers have the exact same voice. They are fully aged, to about the same that Boba Fett would eventually be. An older Boba Fett would have to sound like Jango Fett if their DNA is IDENTICAL. Twins don't have completely identical DNA, thus the changes. Clones do.

I understand what you are saying about the "plot holes". I think Lucas realizes that in order to create a better story arch and make the Prequels better, he has to change some things about the original.

However, because people are all individuals, and make their own choices, it would make sense for 2 people's voices, even if they are genetically identical, to be different.
Let's play a little game called "Me and My Clone".

I live a clean life, hardly ever sick and never did anything that could harm me.
But my clone caught pneumonia as a small child, then got hooked on cigarettes and spent his next 20 years smoking 2 packs a day.

Tell me, which will have the less gravely voice, me, or my clone??

Now, I'm no medical practicioner(sp?), but wouldn't the amount of time you spend talking also affect your voice?? (You yell a lot, you get hoarse.)
Well, what if Boba says 5 million more words over the course of his life than the average clone?? He should lose some edge to his voice for that reason.

Now, why did Lucas use the same voice for all the clones?? Well, duhhh. Most of the time, they had helmets and armor on, so we had no way to tell they were clones. Lucas needed some gimic to keep that fact in our minds.
Well, since we couldn't see, feel, smell or taste them, we would have had to hear them.

I hope I that made sense.

I know what you mean... but thats where there is a plot hole...

if Lucas hadnt have made Boba a clone then he wouldnt have to change the voice... why couldn't Jango just have had a woman give birth to Boba or even take him in as an orphan...

what im saying is it's stuff like this that he is screwing himself on..

Identical Twins do have identical Deoxyribosenucleic acid. Identical Twins are natures clones. If identical twins can have different voices then so can an artificial clone. Boba can have a different voice without it being inconsistant. Therefore I don't think he should change Bobas voice since I like Bobas old voice.

Are you sure? Because I am pretty sure there are differences in their DNA, although minor.

As for the arguement that two people live diffrent lives, I'm really not seeing much of a difference between Boba's life and Jango's. I know they of course do live diffrent lives, but in a sense they are the same. I believe that was what Lucas was going for.

Listen, I understand that in a sense it is a "plot hole" but as with any sci-fi movie, it creates it's own reality and as long as it doesn't contradict that, then it's A-OK in my book. For us, it seems like a huge problem to change the voice, but in 10 years when some kid sits down to watch the films it will flow just right.

You are all missing one big point here!!!

The Clones all sound the same because they all 'Grew' up in the same place. Had the same food, wore the same clothes, etc.
Boba Fett didn't. I take it after Jango died, Boba didn't return to Kamino (someone will have to correct me on this), so for the nest 20 years he was a loner........

So realistically his voice and everything else would be totally different to the Clones.

Yeah??
