If thats the case, I don't see the problem here!!!
I mean I see your point, but like whoever it was who posted up there somewhere, maybe Jabba wanted to scare Solo himself....See maybe Solo and Jabba were quite close really......had some sort of respect for each other....so Jabba was a little upset that Solo fucked him over (even though not intentionally) so Jabba thought a little one on one might help sort the problems out!!
Good points but in regards to the Battle of Naboo..it is...'A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away'...not the near future as you said...so the Battle droids are from the old school of fighting....Think about it..It was the Nemodians (yes their mouths did look shit) who had them, so I geuss those stupid cowards programed them the wrong way..Thats what I think anyway...
But yeah, 1 & 2 aren't the best movies, and they sure as heck don't compare to the originals, but I like 'em, even if some parts do make me cringe beyond all belief.....
