I've had a lot of questions about why i felt the need to film new shots of the Hoth troopers fleeing the At-At's for the end of the Hoth battle, especially when the blu-ray is now out. Well i think this comparison explains everything:

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/93945

The original shot is taken from a scanned cell of the original theatrical 35mm. What the hell have they done to the picture for the blu-ray? Its like one big smudged mess. There was no way i could use this shot.

Another neat preview of the Hoth Generator there!  This thing's really coming together nicely now.  Hopefully you're managing to cover all this 'behind-the-scenes' work for your 'extras' disc.  Maybe some very rough 'time-lapse'-style shots-in-a-row of this stuff would look quite effective, to show how certain things progressed from start to finish?

And those screen comparisons are pretty interesting.   On the blu-ray shot, it seems that the details on the rebels have been lost in a 'blur' compared to the original shot.  When you look at the explosion on the bottom right of the frame, it's very apparent how 'blurry' some elements look in the blu-ray shot now.

Also, it's strange how the blu-ray shot seems to have the dead rebels lying in the foreground more 'in-focus' than the running rebels close to them, which are 'blurred'...yet in the original, both the dead and running rebels have the same amount of 'focus' to them!

I'm disappointed that the overdone 'digital scrubbing' of grain seems to be losing details in too many HD releases these days, and may have to change my title.  The 'Blu, not Blur!' campaign starts here!

The model looks fantastic!  And I look forward to your incorporated Rebel footage.

You're a crazy man, Ady :)  The amount of work you're putting into this edit is amazing... I can't wait to see the finished product.

Nice pics of the shield. The original shot is better of the troopers,  remember the Blu-ray still has crushed blacks. Just saying nice pics  of the Hoth shield generator.

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

Never have I EVER had a problem or have been confused by this sequence. Honestly, I understand most of the suggestions on here, but wow, I think sometimes people over complicate things. I understood it when I was a kid... I also had no issue with Han walking outside the ship to shoot mynocks with a very simple face mask, and somehow, gravity! =)

man sometimes i wish there was a button here u could just click to "agree 100%" with someone, cause i'm with you on this one...

Hi all, I'm new here & this is my 1st post.  I just found this site & thread so I'll be checking this daily! So this is a bit off topic so please allow me this just this one time:

We had AOL dialup for way longer then most people because my wife liked it & didn't want to change so I could never download anything. Recently we got a cable connection & I decided to look into figuring out how to downloading something Star Wars.

I remember reading something about ANH REVISITED a while ago thinking that it sounded interesting. So I figured out how to download & my 1st download was Adwyan's ANH!

Adywan, you are amazing!!! What you have done with ANH is over the top awesome! I never thought it possible to do 1/2 of what you have done here, and I never noticed (even tho Ive seen em all 1000 times) there were so many errors that needed fixing! I was blown away by everything you added as well! I haven't felt that way watching Star Wars since I was a kid! Thank you so much for your obvious love and dedication to making this project!

After watching the 1st thing I did was look to see if there were TESB & ROTJ and that led me here. Sorry all, I just had to give Adywan his props Back on topic now. I cannot wait to see Empire!!!

I always felt that Vader gave Luke a nudge towards the vents, which then pulled him in once he got close enough (as that initial scene with Luke tumbling towards the vents looks too awkward for him to be naturally sucked in, not to mention it fit with Vader wanting his son to live).

Even so, I always figured Luke was under the "dish" of Cloud City, which brings us to this image:

I think the problem is the perspective of the central shaft, which should be MUCH wider at the top right, considering that Luke would not be that far away from it (the best Luke would have traveled through the tube before being ejected couldn't have been more than a football field length), not to mention that the central shaft would be as wide as a small city.

Also, regardless of flipping or altering the shot of Luke's first entry into the airshafts, should the walls be darker and the lights given any kind of FX to better match it's appearance in the farther perspective shot?:

Okay, it matches better than I first thought, but you get the idea...

This may be old, but I noticed in this shot comparison that the blade is not aligned with the top of the hilt (on Luke's lightsaber). Can it be fixed?

Already been fixed:

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/94562

The original lightsaber blade was attached to the hilt correctly. It was bent yes and that needed fixing, but not the way it was attached to the blade.

I was talking about the Revisited version, not the original. Anyway, Adywan got it fixed and that's what matters.

I read this on Facebook (and the ANHR thread), but I still have no idea what you're talking about. Perhaps a link to the YouTube video would help?

About 26 mins into the movie (just after we see AT-AT's through the binoculars, and just before a chunk of snow/ice falls on R2), while Trey says "Echo Station 3T8", his lips ain't looking right.

Right at the beginning of this clip.

All this reminds me that on my first viewing I was originally convinced that Ricardo ('Khan') Montalban had made a very quick 'cameo' at this point, lol...

Er...he's on the left here, but I digress...

yeh, he is saying a different line. the first word begins with an "F". I've done some mouth manipulation so it looks closer to what he is saying. It's not perfect, but looks much better than the original.
