You should also include, if the mkv was encoded correctly,
converttorgb24(matrix="rec709")
but without knowing what's been done previously that might throw it all off again.
With regard to lossless, I used the UT codec on the BD, and it only doubled in size - that wasn't RGB though, and it took careful examination of the options to make sure it was truly lossless (some codecs/settings will resample chroma in different ways, and you have to use the Fast Recompress option in Virtualdub).
