Yeah, in my opinion that whole scene is like one big joke. Just the fact that Jabba doesn't look anything like in ROTJ, and then all that DVNR. Kinda funny actually by the way, I think my first thought when I saw this scene in 97 was "Jabba can move?" :) And the 97 Jabba looked way worse too.
