^I'm not really sure Luca$ interferes with the EU all that much. Most of the prequelization of the EU can be attributed to the PT fanboys who write the actual stories, methinks.

I know he had some loose story guidelines for the early EU, but you may be right about the Prequelized novels.   His followers are so dug in, so devoted to his new vision, that he may not even have to get involved anymore.  They're writing it for him and for themselves.

Funnily, I believe (though I'm not sure) that the EU story he was most involved with was 'Splinter of the Mind's Eye' back in '78 or '79.  SHoSW, in turn, used accounts from Alan Dean Foster, the writer, as still more evidence to show that Lucas didn't have Vader as father or Luke/Leia sibling-ness established at that time.

At other sites, EU fans dig in the trenches for ANY Lucas acknowledgment of their favorite EU and, as soon as Lucas reportedly mentions something, they all jump up and down, "Canon!  Canon!"

I like the double entendre joke making use of other "George's" out there.

I'll say that I'm amazed that Lucas is always mellow and cool in every single clip I've ever seen of him.  And I think that that's a good trait, right?
