What? George Lucas has a son? Oh of course its Jar Jar!!!!

Jar jar binks is the stupidest thing to be in star wars. He never shuts up! And Lucas loves him!!! All he does is yell and annoy people to death. Honestly, Jar Jar and Episode II are the main reasons the prequels sucked!!!!! Who agrees??

I think that if Jar Jar never existed in the prequels and they fixed attack of the clones they would of all been better

Jar Jar and the other stupid things in the prequels (midichlorians, creepy puppet yoda, bad love scenes) save them from just being boring.  That's why I prefer them over "good" fan edits.  I'd rather see something that sucks than something that is boring.

Sometimes I wonder if newbie posts like this are exasperated sighs of relief for people who have found like minded Star Wars fans... or if they are simply way over the top simply to try and win brownie points with the regulars.

Either way, Yeah, Jar Jar is a pain... but I back  Puggo here. I just finished an hour long cut of Episode 1, and cut quite a bit of everything... but Jar Jar is fine in a comic relief capacity, so long as he is used appropriately and when necessary for pacing. It gets too bland without him.

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

Jar Jar is a single drop in a bucket of bad ideas that saturate the prequels. Alone he is an irritant, an annoyance, nothing more; he can be ignored. But when more and more other irritants and annoyances join him ...

George Lucas is the ONLY thing responsible for the prequels awfulness.

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

I've wondered if they're not just sock accounts made by those that would like to point to threads like these to try and discredit the site.

I think RedLetterMedia, as usual, put it quite well. Jar Jar is just a "cartoon rabbit who steps in the poopy" and the prequels would have been just as bad without him. He's barely in AoTC or RoTS and those films still suck.

should have had a different director.

You're not texting - there's no time limit on writing your posts. Take your time and proofread, and welcome to the forums.

And while Jar-Jar is terrible, the problems with the acting, writing, and directing in all three prequels go much deeper than one CGI character.

Greatest use of a comma EVER.

You're just jealous because you don't have a star.

Are we being too hard on the new guy?

God, I wish this was in Off Topic.

But I think there is merit in what Puggo says.

The blue elephant in the room.

Honestly, this is one of those threads where the topic is either in Ric Olie territory or has been previously debated to death (both here and elsewhere).

Seems like as good a reason to move it off-topic as any, but it won't happen.

Off-topic is one option.

Grammare is always important, especially in first impression situations like this one.

Plus, we don't need another kenkraly2007.
