Thank you,i just wanted to know how you do that.

One day we will have properly restored versions of the Original Unaltered Trilogy (OUT); or 1977, 1980, 1983 Theatrical released versions (Like 4K77,4K80 and 4K83); including Prequels. So that future generations can enjoy these historic films that changed cinema forever.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but it always has bugged me when the lizard is crawling upward and to the left out of the hole as Luke is climbing down, the lizard's tale wraps around the side and just stops once he gets to a certain point.  I am not sure if it is worth doing anything with, but it distracts me every time I watch that scene.  See 2:46 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=CVh4hAYjurQ#!

So the lizard stops - what's the big deal?  It's obviously a real creature, not an effect, so why couldn't it have found something of interest to it on the other side of the tree where we can't see and it stopped to deal with it?  It's not like the lizard was purposely trying to get out of Luke's way and suddenly forgot to follow Kersh's directions - it was just going about its business.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Yeah, I know.  I think even if it didn't stop, it would hold my attention during that scene.  No biggie.

"Well i've almost finished transferring all the FX work to the new blu-ray sourced video. The difference in quality between the HDTV and the Blu-Ray is pretty noticeable. Some shots weren't as easy as just importing the new source video because of the slight differences in colour, grain structure etc. So these need a lot more work. But i've tweaked most of the shots in some small or large way."

The executor pic has a small mask error when the planet's glow meets executor. Its a small part but i think its an easy fix :)

The ties are gray again. I can take it that its an old screencap.

The new additions (+second unit) in the extended hangar are impressive but a bit brighter that they should be. Generally the hangar has dull lights.

The vader fix is awesome!

I believe you used GOUT footage to remove the glow from lando's face?

The quality on his face seems wrong but i guess not biggie compare it with the terrible glow. I like it!

Nice to see proper blade lenghts in the cave shots :)

Great updates.

Notes from FB comments:

For Vaders saber in the cave, just listen to the scene. His sabre is heard igniting but it is already lit in that shot, so you now see it ignite. The hangar shot hasn't had the ceiling replaced yet ( you can still see where the set ends). This will be replaced once i have built and filmed the new hangar miniature.

the blade in the original was not only attached in the wrong place, but also bent. You can see here that the new rotoscoped blade is correct:

I love the new pics! Also love the screenshotcomparison.com  concept of  mouse-over picure change. The changes really stand out this way!

I'm surprised I don't use that site, as often as I bring stuff into Photoshop just to turn layers on and off like that.

There's also a slight mis-alignment with the astromech unit - when you swap between the pics, the body moves slightly but the feet don't.

Yay, updates!

To echo Joshua_Blue, that's a great site.  Very handy being able to flip between images with the cursor.

In particular, I found flipping between these images to be quite amusing:

Upside down aerobics with Luke! - http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/89537

Vader feeling the rhythm - http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/89545

And of course, as always, terrific colour correction.

Yeah I did read it, and my opinion stands. It looks alright in the second comparison, but not in the first.
I can see what you mean, but they're only a few frames apart. It looks great in motion, from the now over a year old workprint I've seen.

AH! I never noticed no-neck Vader. Now I'll never miss it when I watch ESB. Thank God for ESB:R!

It makes me wonder why I used to think that TESB was perfect...I cannot believe I didn't notice the no-neck Vader either!!

I personally wish Ady would go back to the grey TIEs.  Be it consistency with ANH or just that (for me) I like the grey look better than the blue (which to me makes them look more like models).  I never felt the TIEs in the Empire fleet reveal or the intro to the asteroid sequence "blended in" with the brownish-grey Star Destroyers, as they never were overlapping one another (with the exception of the first intro shot with the Falcon in the foreground and the SD directly behind it).

Great updates.

I concur!
