QuoteThat multiple Spiderman's story was immediately after the Secret Wars episodes.

Yeah I remember that...didn't they have an Infinite Universe thing going on & there was like 6 different Spidermans running about trying to save the world?
BTW...just on another note....The Secret Wars of the title was originally an Epic crossover story from the early 1980's Marvel comics. If I remember just about EVERY MARVEL superhero/villain was involved in some way & I think there were quite a few characters killed off too. But as it was an "alternate universe" story it didn't really affect the characters regular titles once the storyline had finished.
TVTome.com calls them "The Spider Wars".
In "The Secret Wars" (in the TV show), The Beyonder took 5 archvillains from Earth and placed them on a planet, and left them to mold it for a year (I recall Doc Ock, Dr. Doom, Red Skull and Alistair Smythe). Spiderman was given the task of showing that good could win out over evil, and was able to bring other superheroes to the world to help him with a large computer. I remember him bringing the Fantastic Four, Storm, Iron Man and Captain America before its energy supplies died out (he then had Storm recharge it with lightning blasts, they he had Black Cat join them.
Perhaps in the comics there was more opportunity to flesh out the story, and thus you could have more villians and more heroes.
