Best thread ever.
Now all you need to do is marry Winnie Cooper so you can REALLY look down on the rest of us.
This thread will serve as the central hub for info and feedback concerning the creative writing effort underway at www.TheGreatestNovelEverWrittenLegacy.com.
A bit of background for those unfamiliar with the project:
For the last 14 years, I have been in the process of writing the world's greatest novel. By tirelessly combing through the most renowned literary masterpieces of the last 400 years, I have managed to pull the most successful elements from a plethora of texts and combine them into a single, cohesive epic, the likes of which the world has never seen.
However, due to the possibility of litigation, I will never actually be able to release this novel to the general public. I know this may raise a few eyebrows, and possibly protests, by those who think my amazing work is a gift which should be shared with the rest of humanity. Much as I may like to share the fruits of my labour, I must reiterate that this is simply not possible, and that I must exercise caution lest the powers that be seize this contemporary classic.
Hopefully, simply knowing that such a literary classic exists, even if it can never be read, will be of solace to those who will never see it for themselves. Knowing that this crowning achievement in literature will be preserved for possible perusal by future generations should be comfort enough.
That being said, I may, on occasion and at my discretion, decide to share morsels of my genius with you, the 'little folk.' Here, as a sample, is a brief excerpt from the first chapter:
As you can see, the result thus far is nothing short of astounding. Please keep an eye on this thread for further developments.
Thanks to Mike Verta for inspiring me.

I feel as though this is something magical and that I am a part of it.
I look forward eagerly to more news.

If it doesn't read like Lovecraft on acid, I'm not interested.

Not to worry. I blatantly pilfered was inspired by his works as well. However, as this novel can never be read by anyone other than me, you'll just have to take my word for it. But rest assured, the Lovecraftian elements present in the story are awesome if I do say so myself.
