Re-read that thread.

It's odd. Up until he decided to leave, anti-matter seemed like a pretty cool dude. Then all of a sudden he went all paranoid-rude-stinky.

I'd understand if he'd been in some kind of flame-war, or released his edit here and people didn't like it. But this whole thing just boggles my mind. I desperatly want to understand, but it's a vortex of madness and rudeness.

This is exactly how I felt. I wasn't here back then, so I had read through the whole thread once this popped up and I was truly flabbergasted at the sudden change. Nothing in the previous 88 posts is out of order in any way that I can see, at least not by anything I see in 'in-the-works' threads that go on over at FE, for the most part it was a highly supportive discussion, and then.. SNAP.

Which only fuels my curiosity on the project..

All you azzholes at ot.com should stop trying to negate his work, because it's not going to have much weight outside your classless website.

Just the other day their administrator refreshed AM's thread, which had been closed for over 2 years! Everyone knows that posting to such an ancient thread is normally discouraged by moderators, which I think shows very nicely how desperate and irritated they are over there. The OT website is obsessed with AM and at the same time frustrated that he ignores them and won't mingle.

That's f'ed up and pathetic, but I do like that they continually prove me correct.

Too moronic and obvious to the casual observer. I'd say they are running low on strategy.

Could we just ship them a box of Anti-Matter wall posters? They might stop sucking their collective thumbs.

We're obsessed because one of several hundred active threads is about this dude... and yet 2/3 of their entire forum, which only amounts to about a dozen threads, is about OT.com, FE.org and how much those (five) guys at antimatter's site hate them.

Thanks for the link...what an insane thread.
We dug this out of our vaults as reminder of the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the fanedit community.
I know of a few of these style edits going down since the Reborn project was dropped. This was a edit I was seriously anticipating as I know many others were as well.

I will admit, I had a cut completed and in the can, ready for the test audience which consisted of my wife and dog....Then I came across Anti-matter's Prologue, and fell in love with his vision like a frog loves Skittles. (You don't know; frogs may love Skittles. DON'T JUDGE ME!) This revelation caused me to completely rethink my edit.

So, let this be my proclamation/announcement/village idiot stutter, that I hearby restart my Star Wars: Redemption edit.

As it says above this will be a trilogy. ANH, ESB, and ROTJ will pretty much stay intact with the prequels serving as flashbacks as usual. It's just that I will be using the flashbacks in ALMOST the same order as Anti is using them in his Prologue edit. I think it's a great concept that will add so much more to this edit.

Oh, and as for the '09 date. Well, you guys know how that goes. I will do my best to get this done ASAP. I MAY use Anti's Prologue as a source for prequels as his will be JarJar free, and I do NOT have the patience or the anti-despressants to make it through that ordeal. May angels dance on your belly for that task, Anti. If I go this route, then I will be playing the waiting game for the edit to release. But my anticipation to begin is very high, so we'll see how long I can wait.....Doh, it's gone. I might be starting tonight.

-Benja (December 23, 2008)
I'll let Benja talk about this if he wants, except for one thing. This was posted by "site admin," which I think is either Antimatter or Logan-5. Either way, it's funny that they brought this up again, unprovoked, but we are the ones who are obsessed.

What about his gimp partner? I think TVs Frink latest antics are funny for us because he keeps getting owned but doesn't realize it. He and his cohorts have hijacked AM's thread, pretending to be watching and critiquing the movie. The only problem is, they are not. Check out his claim about the droid analysis lab. I know for a fact, because I HAVE WATCHED THE MOVIE MANY TIMES, that in AM's edit the computer speaks "KAMINO" in ENGLISH. I thought it was the most clever and important technical edit in that short scene. TVs Frink denies this fact, thus revealing his deception to everyone, but NO ONE in that discussion calls him out on the error. They just fall right in line.

Of course, now that I have called him out, expect to see some damage control as he tries to minimize his embarrassment. Insert excuse here:
And Antimatter said:
Yep. The computer analysis is able to link the weapon to Kamino, but not to any person, so at the end of the scan, there is both a computer-generated voice and a visual display. By the way, if you were watching with the sound down, you would still see that in the subtitles
I talked about this in the Fanedit forum thread, but the short version is that I'm watching the .avi and there is no computer voice saying "Kamino," the display is in Aurebesh not English, and as far as I can tell there is no subtitle. My guess is that Antimatter realized the problem (or maybe someone pointed it out) and he fixed it for the DVD. But the idea that I haven't been watching this at all, and am just making things up to make him look bad...is mind-blowing.

Oh, it's also worth noting that Antimatter's current avatar is a naked women. Stay classy.

Mr. Rat Fink is getting tripped up at the last step, I'm sure. If the Prologue fanedit were really that bad, even I wouldn't be able to watch it. The curious problem is that Star Wars fans watch prequel "edits" wanting to re-live the prequel films. I don't see this problem to the same degree in the Star Trek community. Trek fans are a bit better at temporarily distancing themselves from the original movies and episodes when trying to enjoy a fanedit.
I'm not exactly sure how "I like it so it can't be bad" is a defense. As for the rest...uh, what?

He says that he's unlocking the thread because this website shows that the fanedit is now finished. Huh? Anti-Matter finished and released the Prologue in 2009.
Moth3r can give his reason for opening the thread, but I'm pretty sure it was to allow legitimate discussion of the edit (with none of the drama, which goes here instead). And I would guess the timing was due to me making this thread - I'll bet Moth3r forgot the edit was even released, or maybe thought no one here cared.

This is so dumb. I can't wait to see how they trash my edit once it is out.

I LOVE THIS!

Hear that community? I am the greatest fraud! WOO HOO! Fraud? Really? What was fraudulent about ANYTHING I did? You know what? I don't care, this make me laugh!

I had no idea I had made such an impact in their lives.

Wow. Greatest Fraud. Can I get a trophy? I mean, really, Frink "my gimp partner" we should have a ceremony for this.

Let's prep speeches hence forth!

My favorite bit is how neither of us have the right to critique Prologue because neither of us has "successfully released an edit."

Just for fun, these are some of the comments about my upcoming edit in the Benja Glory Hole thread...

I have seen Frink's trailer and he isn't one to be trashing fanedits. The whole "ridiculous" theme is a convenient safeguard against future criticism.
This is an excellent point! To my knowledge, neither TV Frink nor Benja have even completed a successful fanedit, but they invest so much time and energy complaining about a fanedit that came out two years ago.
Honestly, I think AM's old "Pissed Off Aliens" music video is already funnier than what TV Frink is doing. Judge for yourself...

My Teaser Trailer

One of these videos makes me laugh out loud, but the other does not.
In the first video, I thought the Windu BLEEP was funny, but the rest is just kinda silly to me. If you think about it, he's starting with footage that's already silly and then adding silly music to it. What's so hard or creative about that?

In the second video, neither the music nor the footage is funny by itself. If you experience any humor, it comes from the addition of the text captions.

I won't speak more on these because I was involved in the second video.
Speaking of "funny," Rat Fink also gave us a preview clip, which failed to impress me, to be perfectly frink ()and honest.

It felt more like juvenile humor, which gets tiring quickly if overdone. For example, looping a shot 5 or 6 times isn't funny; it's annoying.

This on a website who's leader (only member?) defended his own edit with the statement "Nuts to any criticism, this ending is what I want! Lemmings!!"

So I don't think I'll ever take the time to download and watch Prologue or anything else from his site, but I have to say that artists have to be thick skinned and willing to fail if they ever intend to succeed.  Constructive criticism should be polite, but should always be honest and complete.  Reading through the comments on his site, not only does Prologue receive nearly perfect votes, but so does everything else that Anti-matter has laid hands on.  It's like they think he's Jesus, come to heal the broken film, and once he has blessed it, all is perfect.  Either he is a far better filmmaker/editor than any established worker and should be getting a letter of invitation from a big studio any day, or he simply has some fans who are overly eager to please.  It is okay for people to dislike your art while others adore it, but to only allow opinions that make you feel good to have any voice ultimately cuts your own efforts at the knee.

Anyone responsible for this?

I don't mean to be rude, but isn't one of the rules to this website "be respectful"? I'm reading through some of these threads and it seems like more time is spent being mean to people who disagree instead of being constructive and talking about fan edits. I'm just saying. I see alot of it at originaltrilogy.com too but there is a lot of good things to be said there too.

Please PM me if you posted it.  I'd like to say thanks.

Random Annoyance: I was looking through the digital-fanedit forum and noticed that Antimatter's avatar was NSFW (basically a nude woman). It baffles me that they don't have any regulations against stuff like that. I suppose since Antimatter basically runs the thing...

Also, has anyone actually given the other edits a try, especially the non-AntiMatter ones? Just curious if there's anything worth the download.

Sorry, Frink. Wasn't following the thread properly. Still, not to beat a dead horse, but I do agree with you. It's unclassy and the website has no warning about such content.

Pretty much everything there is unclassy.

I'm sort of interested in the matrix edit that was recently posted but I don't know if I'll bother or not.  It's hard to get a good read on quality there (for obvious reasons).
