To be honest, watching the DVD, it did seem to me that the brightness was taken down a few notches and there were some compression artifacts (mostly slight blocking). The Revisited footage was not as clean as in the Revisited DVD. I couldn't notice these things on a computer, but once I was watching it on a 58" screen, it became apparent.

It's important to note that the DVD player can indeed factor into how visible these imperfections are. For example, very good OPPO upconverters can highlight flaws that other players don't show. In any case, the quality was still very watchable for me.

(aside from the MF's defense on the Ties as it escaped the Death Star - and I WILL be cutting that in the 1080p version)

You're making an HD version?! Do you plan to work on this this before the sequel edit or afterwards? In any case, I look forward to that scene being cut. As iconic as it is, it does not make sense in the context of your edit and seems to cheery, breaking the really great solemn mood you set after Ben's death. I believe I even pointed this out in my initial review.
