I always imagined the SD "bridge" shot to be a viewscreen comparable to the one on the Death Star... so why not just modify the "window" area by cloning the DS viewscreen and imposing the outer space view over Alderaan or whatnot?  That way, it doesn't matter which direction the gun itself is facing (left/right or up/down), as the viewscreen could access any number of cameras located all over the SD hull.

In regards to the Krayt Dragon scream, here's my idea:

(1) keep the original scream.  The others are just goofy

(2) I can understand erasing Ben waving his arms around, as the scream is pretty scary, but a man flopping his arms in a loose fitting robe isn't.  So I say you could erase him so you have a scream coming from nothing (which WOULD be pretty scary) oooor if you HAVE to put a creature in there, keep it subtle to this degree:

If you look at the first image (Ben only), you will notice that the sun is behind the camera, and the shadow on the ground is coming from a hill behind us.  Why not have the shadow of a creature come over the hill, essentially filling in the area the robed man would be, so the Tuskens would think said Krayt Dragon is coming over the hill behind them?

Also (if Ady is reading this), maybe add a bit of an echo or stadium sound to the original Krayt Dragon scream, being that they are in a cavern (and it would sound GREAT on a 5.1 sound system).  You could even manipulate the directionality of the scream, so it starts out at a certain pitch far in the back (coming from the center channel speaker), and then grows louder as if something invisible is coming up on you (if you choose the "delete Ben only" option)... which would be a nice nod to FORBIDDEN PLANET, among other many nods... (meaning it would still fit with the original spirit of ANH and would be something one could see Lucas doing in 1977).

One more thing you could do regarding FP is add depressions into the ground and some animated rocks rolling down to the left, ie. footprints of an invisible beast as it approaches.

It seems one thing no one really mentions is what can be done with the manipulation of sound.  Visual FX are obviously a straight-forward change, but what sound options could be utilized to either improve or add effect to the story telling process?

Things such as manipulating sound FX to be more directional (X-wing, MF, TIE fighter[s] etc moving from one side of the screen to the other in a more audibly dramatic way by taking the existing sound FX but increasing/decreasing the original sounds from one set of speakers to the other to really emphasize movement), or adding more background sound elements to things like the Cantina scene or ANH/EMPIRE rebel base scenes (layered in loudness to add depth to crowd scenes).

Hearing speaking/conversations (nothing too loud) over our shoulders (in rear speakers) say during Luke's confrontation with the "wanted men" in the Cantina.

During the Detention Block rescue, emphasizing the sound of the lasers to go over our shoulder and maybe add impact explosion sounds in the rear speakers.

And while slightly off topic, I just had to share these for you:
