Having just sat through something* that is argualby (mostly) the Phantom Menace... and this being the first time in 6 years I've watched any of TPM...  Well...

Most of you know I'm an ardent PT hater.  Many of you may also know that I bear no fondness for TPM, Watto, Quigonn, film grain, or any of the other "redeeming" qualities that many see in this movie.  I consider TPM to be the objective worst of PT (even if I found RotS more subjectively disappointing- only because my hopes were higher (though it wasn't surprising(my hopes were tempered by fears (which were met(parenthetically speaking)))))... but years of "not watching it" have made me forget all but my reaction to it.  Many of you say you like it- to a degree- and that its high points almost outweigh the low.  And I've learned to understand that people just have different opinions on the matter.

But I just watched (mostly) it again.  And all I can say is that it is far more terrible than I recall and I can't understand how anyone could see anything redeeming in this movie.

Perhaps I'm being too swayed by the fan-edit... perhaps I'm not evaluating the real TPM... but I don't think so...  I may not remember how every scene in the original TPM went... but I think I'm not too far off.

This is a bad, bad movie.  And I'm embarassed for anyone involved in the making of it.

I can't begin to understand the perspective that there's anything redeeming about it.  Sorry if that offends.
