Besides animals have enough qualities worthy of consideration on their own merits without the need to attribute human properties to them.

I saw a cockroach playing Pacman. It was on the internet, right, and somebody had linked up a cockroach to err... to some... I can't even be bothered explaining it, but that's what I'm saying - everything is moving on.

I thought this "chemical castration" was about reducing the sexual DRIVE?

I must have missed that.

As I said before sex drive is not always the only motivation of these crimes.

It may create an impression of safety where it doesn't exist.

A sexual sadist uses sex as a means of gratification for their sadism not their sexual needs.

It's much safer to contain people convicted of these crimes in a prison or in a secure psychiatric hospital if that is appropriate.

Pedophiles, Rapists and Serial Killers deserve death.

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

We all get death.

What sort of a punishment is death?

Nice people die too you know?

He means premature death, and no one ever said you should kill nice people, too.

Once they're dead they cannot hurt someone else.  Sometimes these people get out of jail and continue to rape and murder.

Don't let them out then.

If the state kill executes someone and it is discovered later that they were falsely identified as being guilty you can't revive or attempt to compensate them.

You also cannot study and learn from them.

Yea, but some cases are unambiguous and admitting ;)

This is a transcript of an audio recording that serial killers Larry Bittaker & Roy Norris made of one of their victims.

Raped her.  Murdered her.  Dumped her.

These guys deserve an equal punishment for what they did.  Since it would be "wrong" to do to them what they did to her, the death penalty will have to do.

If death is the penalty for being caught doesn't that make murder the better option for a rapist or a child molester?

There are people who would be prone to murder their victims anyway but if the crime was opportunistic rather than part of sadistic lifestyle and death is the punishment wouldn't such a criminal want as few witnesses as possible?

On every level the Death Penalty just doesn't make sense to me, containment (possibly permanent) makes much more sense.

Every time I hear about someone clearly, exonerated by new evidence, even after they had a (coerced?) confession whatever residual support I had for the death penalty breaks.

I will never understand why George W, who was keener than most at pushing through death sentences to minors, the mentally handicapped and where the evidence was shaky at the least, made a special case for not executing Henry Lee Lucas.

We are already talking about death penalty for murder.

Not in all cases but in some it would provide an added incentive to kill, surely counter to what anyone would want.

In for a penny, in for a pound.

If you've committed a non-murder capital offense already, there's no cost to the criminal to up the ante to murder to eliminate a witness.
