In an alternate reality without SW and Indiana Jones, we wouldn't know about their lack of existence and hence be unable to compare life without them to life with them.

Still, Lucas had some great ideas in his prime. He envisioned two of the most entertaining blockbuster franchises in movie history. However, he alone didn't make those movies successful.
