This brings back memories. I did a radio show for 3 years in school at the University of Tampa. Equipment never setup right, limited broadcast, terribly weak AM signal, never turned on in the school common areas etc.

I'll definitely check out your show bkev!

Here's the old facebook page for my main show:

God, I loved doing this. I popped in all the time and just went for hours. Then I upgraded all my music to lossless quality and began lugging in laptop, external harddrive, CDs, Vinyl, Singles, Turntable, even cassettes in every show (which got to be several times a week). Really reignited my interest in music. Especially albums as a cohesive whole. I started doing classic and underrated albums weekly. (Need to upload the full list of ones I did.) Blew some people's minds with the 1st press Who's Next, original mix of Quad, Albini mix of In Utero, and later R.E.M. records.

My old standby line was about my loyal -5 listeners. We finally got internet streaming that didn't work very well. (does that ever work right? ;)

I also learned the joy of the air guitar. Every show I did ended with a Who mini-set that involved me thrashing about for at least 35 minutes in an empty station with everything cranked past 11. And on the final show I did break a guitar. Literally. ;)

Damn. I really need to start doing this again. Does anybody know a good way of DIY radio? I've thought of just making a video or podcast and setting it somewhere.
