Obviously zombie, none and co. choose not to. They must have a good reason. Perhaps they think that an FB group wouldn't be taken as seriously.

I'd love to hear the "good reason". If that's true, by their standards the thousands of legit business organizations, movements, charities, causes, etc who have FB pages should not be taken seriously, either.

I'm not saying that's the reason, nor that I would agree with that reason. I have no idea what their reason is, I was just guessing.

Should SSW.c have a myspace page, an orkut page, a friendster page, a usenet account, an egroups forum, an AOL account, a prodigy page...

The information the site is looking to put on the internet is on the internet through savestarwars.com.  If you want zombie to do more work by putting the information in multiple pages, that's fine, but i'd rather have him doing more research.

If you count all the re-comps and wipes, it is probably about ten to twenty minutes per film, which I guess would be roughly 10% since they all run just over 2 hours.

When you count the screwed up colour, it's more like 105%, right?

IT'S MY TRILOGY, AND I WANT IT NOW!

"[George Lucas] rebooted the franchise in 1997 without telling anyone." -skyjedi2005

"Yeah, well, George says a lot of things..." a young 1997 xhonzi on RASSM

"They're my movies." -George Lucas. 19 people won oscars for their work on Star Wars (1977) and George Lucas wasn't one of them.

I've had the star wars saga blu-rays for some time now I enjoy everything about them picture , sound , extras, everything. Sure episode 1 is not perfect transfer on blu-ray because of the DNR issues but it's a decent transfer. The other 5 star wars films on blu-ray look very good though with ROTS and the original trilogy looking the best. Sure some fans are not going to like the new color timing of the OT from 2004 but it's not a big issue for me and some of the error's from the 2004 dvd release's for the OT have been corrected for the blu-ray's. Sound wise the films have never sounded better with the DTS HD Master Audio 6.1 soundtrack on blu-ray. Episode 4 sound's very good on blu-ray and again most of the audio problems from the 2004 dvd release for Episode 4 have been corrected. And the other 5 films of the saga sound good on blu-ray too.

Any particular reason you felt like you needed to paste your Blu-ray review in this thread about zombie's site?

Yep; neither SaveStarWars nor SecretHistoryofStarWars have been updated in months. I hope he hasn't dropped off the face of the earth...

Research takes time. (as does finding work / making a living)  The actions which lead to the creation of SaveStarWars took place 25+ years ago, and there have been minimal developments since.  These kind of articles shouldn't be expected at regular intervals.  Although when there are increased official SW activities, sometimes that leads to new developments taking place.  But it's never clear where the new article might come from.

With TPM coming back to theaters, is there a related topic or idea which could be expanded into an article?  Feel free everyone to toss out ideas.  An article similar to the SE changes could be done for TPM.  The changes were more additive then revisionary (until the Yoda puppet replacement), but trying to determine why TPM got recropped in different ways could be something to postulate about.

'Tribute to the Last Physical Yoda Puppet' - would you read something with this title?  The article could get into shift between digital and physical effects.  Talk about the people who did the puppetry, etc.

It might be a good idea to cover this (recent interview with GL, where he talks about going out of the movie business because of "fanboys")  in some serious manner - like dissect where and why he's either deliberately lying as usual or at least is totally missing the point. All in a civil manner, with hard evidence instead of emotions. I believe that Michael would be a perfect guy for the job.

I imagine increased competition in the special effects industry, the financial downturn and advancing old age have a lot more to door with George Lucas never ever making another film (other than all those films he is planning to make) than fans who don't love every decision he has made or allowed to be made.

Just a guess.

I've been needing to get in touch with Zombie for a while now & haven't heard anything from him in a few months.

I've got something I've been working on for savestarwars since October.  We've had a good dialogue back & forth about it but sometimes he does disappear for a few weeks at a time.  Totally understandable as he's got both work & school to juggle.

But the last time I've heard from him was mid November.  I'd really like to get this stuff I've worked on out there.  I don't want to get too specific, but I was doing the research to provide him with the material to write an article for the site.  I've contemplated writing it myself & letting him just post it, but I'm in the middle of changing jobs and moving 1200 miles across the country so I won't really have time to work on it for a while.

Some ideas/notes for a Yoda article.

"Irregardless of your opinion if digital or puppet is more believable..."

45 shots containing Puppet Yoda were changed for the blu-ray.  Which is 2% of TPM's ~2,246 shots.

Lynne Hale diaries (end of ep.5)  has bronze model of the new puppet Yoda and Stewart Freeborn.

Making of TPM doc. 49:30 Frank Oz (while looking at Watto previz) "You don't need me" George Lucas "Things are definitely changing"  same discussion but a phrase to use at the end of the article.  GL: "We'll always need you."

The 'Puppets to Pixel' doc from AotC, chronicles the evolution of the original model.

Quote from that doc:

09:00 - AotC meeting on Digital Yoda

George Lucas : "The secret is to make him look like a rubber puppet.  The problem we got to last time was to make... when they made the upgrade didn't look like the older puppet anymore.  So... Then everyone complained that he didn't look real.  But he looked better then before yes they made him better but people don't like that.  They want him to look like he did before, in the first film."

Mention first appearance of digital Yoda in Star Wars in Concert.

Multiple blogs wrote about the blu-ray revision:

Zombie was a previewer for The Ridiculous Menace.  He said he watched it and would send me notes but I never heard back.  I think this was back in November.

Hopefully he's doing okay.

Well... doesn't seem like him to just not say anything for months.  :-S

I sure hope he's working on that long-promised revised 'Secret History'.

Lots to add what with the deleted scenes, further revisions and revisionism, etc.

Surprise! I'm alive and well. Just been having some time off (mostly) to focus on other things. Now that I've gotten stuff sorted out I'll be back as regularly scheduled. Sorry if I worried anyone. I'm currently slogging through two months of unreplied emails and such. If you tried to get ahold of me and I never got back to you, don't take it too personally.
