I haven't delved much into the special features yet. There's a 50 minute documentary about the restoration process and, general info about Metropolis. I "watched" that while browsing the internet. There's an inset that I've glanced at. It has a couple comparison pics of the raw frames and, the restored frames. There's an interview I've yet to watch and, a re-release trailer which again I've yet to watch.

Just re-watched 2001 for the first time in a long time.
While Clarke gives his explanation in 2010 as to why HAL does what he does, doesn't it make more sense that as an intelligence with long range sensors he's just got an 'evolutionary' boost from Jovian monolith?
His actions are no more a malfunction than Moonwatcher's.

Au Revoir Les Enfants 10/10 Balls. Very emotional movie, nice design, and very realistic. Loved that it got the Criterion treatment.
