Simple. Anakin and Luke both rose from obscurity to become great heroes while raised on Tatooine. And while Anakin's sun set in the P.T. Luke's sun rose in the O.T. (METAPHORS! :D)

Anyways, I always liked the Tatooine connection to the Skywalker family. I'd hate to see it go.
