it sort of makes sense that the narrative would revolve around the same family of characters.

Y'know, I just don't understand why they couldn't of had Owen be Anakin's actual brother in the Prequels. It would of made his decision to leave his mom somewhat more understandable: Owen would take care of her as the "man of the family" which means that Anakin wouldn't look like a total jerk for never coming back to her.

Plus, we'd have a nice little competitive brother relationship to play off of. Owen never really wants to do anything wrong, and likes to stick to his chores. Anakin on the other hand is the risk taker, and always succeeds at whatever he does, which annoys Owen to no end.
