You could have the best of both worlds, start with the Executor on route to the Death Star (possibly as part of the same caravan bringing the Emperor) and Vader reaching out to Luke, then have the saber construction scene leading to Yoda's death and then have Vader arrive at the Death Star.

In fact do we need to see Vader arriving at all?

He could communicate with Jerjerrod via a hologram like in ESB.

That would lead to a much more dramatic Death Star reveal when the Emperor arrives.

Let the audience imagine they are watching ESB for a while before you get to the Jabba stuff.

I was giving the deleted choking seem some thought.

It has some value, showing Jerjerrod getting one over on Vader but it's poorly framed and having the guards strike that pose diminishes their silent menace.

The corridor is also badly designed.

I've always seen Vader as a Trooper's General.

The other films show him entering the battlefield in person with the troops.

He chokes the officers but never the grunts.

If he were to march up a widened corridor with troopers in tow to the elevator and be barred by the guards crossing pikes it would create the impression of a Mexican stand off with the Moff and the guards on one side and Vader and the stormies on the other.

He could then attempt to strangle the Moff but as soon as he mentions that it is the Emperor's command his own troops would point their guns at Vader (not that they could do much but it shows where their ultimate loyalties lie).

That would serve to show how isolated Vader is and maintain the dignity of the Royal Guards which until the PT turned them into a bit of a joke always seemed a bit mysterious and threatening.
