The Shadow. Found this on DTS LD at my local shop and finally decided to watch it all the way through. All in all it's an enjoyable little pulpy action serial, but I was surprised at the bits of refined humor snuck in throughout. Some nice one liners, a hero who actually disguises his face and voice, and a scene supposedly set in the 30's scored with a Kenny G soundalike. (Seriously, who the heck thought that was period appropriate????)

3/4 balls. I really like DTS on LD. It's fun.

The Seven Ups. Interesting quasi-sequel to The French Connection with a great car chase to boot. Not a great film, but more primarily concerned with character depth. A enjoyable watch and cheap DVD.

2.5/4 balls. The car chase is 10 minutes long. That's right 10 minutes!!
