I agree about the Doctor Who restorations - they are indeed incredible. The Planet of the Daleks DVD was stunning because it included a newly-colorized episode - they had lost one of the color episodes and only had a black-and-white version of it - the color version had never been found. So they created a new colorization technique themselves just for that episode, and the results are amazing - I really don't think it's possible to tell the difference between the rest of the episodes and the color episode. It's that good. They even include a segment on the DVD about how they did the colorization.

And I have seen several of their classic episode DVDs that contain both the original episodes and new "special editions" as well.

It goes to show how much effort the BBC puts into their discs. Now compare that to Lucasfilm.
