I've seen this set. It is watchable, but you do have half a movie per DVD. If you're close to the TV, it doesn't look so good - there is a fair amount of ... movement (I don't really know what the technical term would be) in the screen. If you're across the room, it looks fine. Not impressive, but fine. I imagine it's better than VHS, but since I don't have access to the THX VHS set I can't say for certain. I've seen it, and I'm still interested in seeing the TR47 and possibly the anamorphic, to see if the quality is better.
The 7-disc job uses the artwork from the SE soundtrack CDs on the discs (providing a convenient Part I and Part II designation for each disc). Don't know which version of the laserdisc it is taken from.
