By the way, if you (or anyone) needs an excellent, audiophile grade transfer of the "Movie on Record" LP, let me know.

Had a very good copy of the LP, used a pro Ortofon cartridge/stylus on the 1200MKII, had an outboard A-D converter and only cleaned up the pops that were neccessary.

In other words, yes, I am serious about my audio!

If enough people want it maybe I can post it on my blog...

Also, it's worth noting that this album is a lot more than just "no narrator and having a few alternate takes."

This album was a serious colaboration between Burtt and the Public Radio engineers that created the STAR WARS radio programs. It's a from the ground-up audio reconstruction of the film, using all the original music, dialog and sound effects - but it IS a complete remix of the movie.

If you were to listen to the movie and LP simultaneously, very little of it would match! In any case, it's an incredible sonic experience (everyone agrees it's sound quality is unmatched) and if you're a fan it's really cool to hear a totally different version of the movie.
