You really don't need anyone's permission to participate and share your cover artwork.

if it's good, people will use it for their covers, if it's not so good you'll get comments on how to make it better and so on. In my view, it's all about taste and what YOU would like to have on your own covers, then share it.

Either way, Adywan will provide (I'm guessing here) an "official" cover and DVD art with the release like he did with ANH:R. That by no means you have to print. I did because I loved them, but I'm also working on my own and if I think they're good enough to share, I'll just post them.

It's all about contributing to the community, in one way or another IMO.

I really don't want to read every page.. so what is the delay on this one? Is it just because of the Blu-Ray? It seems to not have as many changes needed as ANH did, so that should mean its done quicker, right? Is there an ETA for now?

Ady is doing entirely new filming for this one, making models from scratch, etc..  He's taking his time for extremely good reason.

Oh, so somewhere this went from a simple little, not-as-much needed as ANH-edit, to a complete overhaul. But isn't the 2011 ESB already 90% perfect? Anyway, I'm sure this edit will be great!

Since the Blu-Rays suck, everyone should just give Adywan the $100 bucks they would've paid for the Blu set, so he can finish up this and ROTJ, then do the prequels too. I was hoping Lucas would give us a perfect, no plot-holes, error-free version of the Saga. But since that seems like it will never happen, Ady will have to pick up the slack. I haven't even seen ANHR, yet, but just going by word-of-print (instead of mouth) and 005's Google images, it seems awesome!

Not a complete overhaul.  Recently I've seen people calling the Revisted saga "what the special editions should have been", which I think is an excellent way to describe them: keeping the colors intact (even corrected), the lightsaber blades beautifully corrected, fixing the most unnoticeable errors, and having a surprise here and there.  Ady has an entire unit filming new footage for the Battle of Hoth, for example, with props built, as far as I know, from scratch.  He was even making a Wampa, though I don't know if that ended up working or not.

Marioxb, ESB:R also takes a lot of time because Ady had tragic loss in his family during the making. And we all understand that the last thing that's on your mind during  those moments is building a Wampa...

I like the idea of giving the $100 to Adywan instead of GL for the Blu Rays.

It makes more sense. Good idea marioxb.

That would certainly be the ideal situation.  Personally, I will (and have done so far) donate £10 for each movie.

 Spoiler free for the ST

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that, Ady! Losing someone is never easy. My mom died at 49 of Pneumonia in 2003. Its still hard on me, sometimes moreso than others.

I haven't really been following this revisited thing, stupidly assuming Lucas would make "perfect" versions at some point. I can't wait for ESB-R now, I need something to watch alongside ANH-R, as soon as I download it, that is! I almost bought a Blu-Ray player just for Star Wars.. but now I can wait a bit longer..

Well you should still plan on buying a BD player because Ady will be releasing ESB:R in 720p AVCHD.  He also plans to go back and redo ANH:R in HD after he gets done with ROTJ:R.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Oh, no DVD version this time, huh? Well hopefully someone can send me a bluray-r. disc then, since I have no plans to get a bd-r drive.

Ady's prime source of delay has been a string of unavoidable personal tragedies which he has had to adapt his time to deal and cope with (that and having a sense of ambition and commitment to perfection that makes Uncle George's recent efforts look like...Uncle George's recent efforts).

There will be BD, AVCHD, and DVD9 versions, if I recall correctly. My favorite part is that they're all going to be the same version, no more XVID draft, DVD5 draft, DVD9 draft.

Which also means that we're going to have to go over the final draft with a fine toothed comb before its released...

That's right, I forgot about Ady's own personal losses.  My apologies, it was 1 AM or so.

The Blu-Rays will definitely draw more fans here after they realize that they paid for something vastly inferior to Ady's version.

Vastly?

Strong words there, and I LOVE Ady's work. Made me excited about Star Wars again. But this whole the Blu-Ray is garbage negativity has got to stop some time. It's such a bummer.

Star Wars should be fun.

Even if Vader says NO.

Way off-topic by the by. Forgive me.

The unfortunate thing is that in order to legally HAVE these movies in HD, you have to OWN an HD copy of the films. I'm not even sure how ady was able to get a legal copy of ESB in HD, but that's none of our concern anyways. For all we know, a Fox exec could've given it to him - but regardless, I like to believe that they KNOW of ady's efforts, and support them because they keep the interest in Star Wars going. However, if (as a fan-edit community) we all decide to boycott the Blu-Rays in support of ONLY ady's films, I can guarantee that it will only make hell for ady. By all means donate to ady, but also buy the Blu-ray - if you decide NOT to buy the Blu-ray and ONLY get ady's films, that's a personal choice, but don't go around posting it everywhere because then adywan (and possibly even all other faneditors) will start getting in to legal trouble.

Regardless of the poor choices made with the Blu-ray, at least buy it in order to have the legal right of also owning ady's HD versions.

Well, in my opinion, if your already paying monthly to watch the current HD versions through your local cable/ satellite supplier, then I feel you don't have to buy the Blurays to own adys edit. They are all being shown through my Cox Cable supplier pretty frequently, and I can always DVR them.

And 24hrs after recording them, it's illegal to still be in possession of them. Just buy the Blu-rays...

What? That's bullshit, right? What are DVD recorders (not HDD but the ones that actually record to DVD discs for) and what about VCR?
