This edit is freakin hilarious. I created an account just to comment on this. Incredible job Frink. I can't even imagine the amount of work you've put into this. Not all the jokes hit but most do and when they do they have you rollin.

I've watched a dozen or so clips of this so far. feels like i've already seen most of it. can't wait to see the finished product in full.

Feedback:
some conversations are too incoherent
lots of obvious hard cuts gets a bit distracting at times, unavoidable though
jar jar should say 'oh shit' when he steps in poo?

speaking of which, jar jar is still annoying as hell. something should be done with him as he's the low point of this edit, subs aren't enough imo. he sucks the fun out of every scene he's in.

tighten up some of the incoherent scenes, fix jar jar, add in some fart jokes (if you haven't already) and this will be an instant classic.

*maybe jar jar can have a bad case of gas throughout the movie? ^_^

Seriously, they should release this in theaters so we can finally see an entertaining version of TPM.

Regarding the feedback, would you mind giving me specific examples of incoherent dialogue or hard audio cuts? Hopefully some of these are older clips that I've already addressed.

Progress has slowed quite a bit recently, but the end is in sight.  I've finally got a DVD-compliant workprint that (assuming I can get it onto a DVD) I'll be watching next weekend.  From there hopefully just some quick tweeks, and then it will be off to the review crew.

October is a definite possibility at this point.  Stay tuned...

After recently re-watching Grease (1978) I noticed a lot of points of similarity.

The Thunder Road race parallels the pod race for example but that seems to be nailed down to add any lines or references.

But it might be fun to merge some of the pod construction sequences including the deleted scenes with into musical montage to a truncated version of Greased Lightning. 

The film pretty much dominated the cinema and charts around the same time as Star Wars and probably wouldn't have been possible without American Graffiti. 

Man, I really need to wrap this up, don't I?  :p

Just finished watching the DVD workprint and it's in real good shape. Just a few minor fixes to make, and I should be able to upload the workprint within the next few days.
