Those DC LDs are notorious rotters, but the book alone is worth the price you paid, even if the discs are no good. My book didn't have a slipcover, either. I got a used set, too, so I'm wondering if the books in that set even had slipcovers to begin with?

Noo....NOOOOOOO!! I don't know much about LD deterioration over time. I hope the discs are okay (to the naked eye they are, but one can't see oxidation on the disc), but I may never even know...

For some reason I thought the book at a cover in some images or youtube videos I've seen, but I think I was mistaken.

Again, for $20 it's a great, great find.

As for the LE discs, I don't want to pay out of the wazoo for them. I'm kicking myself a bit because even 6 months ago I could have gotten them. The re-released trilogy pack from 2008 has been cheap for a couple years ($30 on amazon) and now it's under crazy demand. Today I went to two Barnes and Noble stores, two Targets, and a Best Buy. No luck for the individuals or pack. One B&N checked and said it was recalled in April, just when pre-orders for the blu-ray began. I wish I had the foresight to snatch those dvds up.

I haven't really been into SW much for a couple years in that the last SW products I bought were the 2004 dvd set and 2005 ROTS dvd. Sometime around 2006 when those LE discs came out I resolved to not give Lucas my money for them because it wasn't a proper release. I didn't want to buy the 2004 versions again to get a "bonus feature." Yet, now we see that the UOT most likely won't see any future release. Then again, we've all thought these things before and I would not be surprised if in a couple years Lucas releases the UOT on blu-ray. If that happens George will have fooled me again!
