I have a question concerning Blade Runner. It's not directly to do with this edit but I didn't want to start a new thread and I thought Zombie may know the answer:

I always assumed that when the awesome Blade Runner Blu-Ray set was being made, they made new scans of all the versions - did a proper 4K restoration from the negatives for the Final Cut and did a 1080p IP scan for all the others (which look pretty awesome too).

But just out of a whim I checked out my Director's Cut 2006 DVD the other day and that is one awesome transfer, looks almost HD! So my question is:

As the DC DVD transfer was made in 2006, it was probably scanned at at least 1080p and as all three older versions (that is the original US cut, original international cut and the DC) were on one disc through seamless branching, didn't they just use the 2006 DC transfer and scan only those few shots that were cut out for the DC for the BD Box set?

Not that it would make any difference to how awesome that set is, just that they had to put a bit less work into it than I originally thought.
