Are you implying that the schlockfests that were Predator or Predator 2 might have been better?

I think he's saying that conventional beliefs hold that the original Predator is the best ever. Not saying that you can't have your opinion of course, but the original Predator is the highest rated of all the others on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.

However, I will say that Predators was a good flick, I'd place it right behind the original but nowhere past it.

My only gripes with Predators is the fact that it follows Predator too much. Predator 2, while a horrible film, did something different.

Predators is the best sequel for Predator, but it's not as good of a sequel as it could've been.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

You're right, it's pretty obvious they tried to see if that firecracker could pop twice. I did enjoy Predators though, admittedly though I'm one of the few who enjoyed Predator 2. I never really got into AvP flicks, probably because I have nothing for Aliens. Just never liked those movies.

I have a soft spot for Lethal Weapon era Danny Glover films.

Me too! I liked Danny Glover before he went nuts.

Okay, I can see that. But I feel like Predators had a much deeper plot than Predator or Predator 2 (which I also really liked). I think the twist had a lot to do with that, since I wasn't expecting it (though I should have been).

I hope they do a sequel.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

Being now the fourth or fifth time I've seen this, I still find more perspectives and understand different characters better.  The whole movie is a magic trick!  Easily one of my all-time favorites.

10/10 dead birds.

Meh.

If they would have had Bowie play Tesla, the movie would have better.

So David Bowie invented the Tesla Gun? Cool!

Danny Glover AND Mel Gibson went nuts?  I guess we now know the cause...

The Anderson Tapes (1971)-A few words: Lumet. Connery. Walken. Martin Balsam as a gay antiques dealer. (Threw me for an absolute loop. Imagine Arbogast...no wait....there couldn't have been homosexual subtexts in Psycho could there...oh dammit there's another Hitchcock study to do...)

An absolute little gem of a movie. Everything is firing on all fronts, and it really makes for one of the oddest caper films I've ever seen. And did I mention IT HAS CHRISTOPHER WALKEN pre-Annie Hall??

3 1/2 surveillance cameras out of 4 Connery/Lumet projects (I still really want to see The Offence!)

The real question is: what the heck is up with the "Martini Movies" DVD series? Why spend the money on that crap when you could have done something more useful like...a dual layer transfer!

The Beatles in "HELP!"

I grow fonder of this film each time I see it.

I give it 8 out of 10 sacrificial rings.

Hahaha I actually thought of you when he first came on screen.  He was awesome as Tesla and so was Andy Serkis as his assistant.

That was actually my favorite aspect of the whole movie.

Secret Window - Yes I know we're a little behind the times.  I enjoyed it right up until the ending.

It smacks of typical disposable storytelling, something not meant to be thought about or dwelt on at all.  Like a campfire story that's forgotten as soon as the next one begins.

Something I've always associated with Steven King.  His short stories and novellas at any rate.  (Secret Window was based on a Steven King novella, in case you were wondering what the connection was.)

I think the only good thing to come from Steven King is the Kubrick's interpretation of The Shining, and Steven King hated it!

When I started watching it, I wanted to have those types of pills. And then I changed my mind. And then I thought it would be kinda cool again. And then I changed my mind. And then I thought it would be kinda cool again.

Do the names Frank Darabont and Rob Reiner mean anything to you?
