Bossk,

If your talking about pre-1985 figures, I might have a guide for you.
...
I cannot find it anymore. Perhaps I have it on my hard drive. It was a picture of all the weapons, and each was labeled. I wish I could remember that URL...www.galstar.com/mmiller or something like that.

Hotrod,
For me, the X-mas of 1986 was probably the biggest SW I had.
My parents bought all my stuff at KayBee Toys. 3 for $.99 I think was the price on the figures. Anyways, X-mas of 86, I got:
Millennium Falcon
Lambda Shuttle
Ewok Village Playset
...
(had X-Wing, Y-Wing, Vader's TIE)
I cannot remember anything else now. That was also the year I lost the belief in Santa Claus. I had been playing in the basement and found all the boxes.

Bossk,

Good news. I was able to find it...sort of.

There is this cool site I found, archive.org. Every so often it sends a spider out to collect websites, and it archives them. You can view what www.microsoft.com looked like in 1998.

Anyways, it took some guessing (for the URL), but I found the site I mentioned.

Galahad, hey we all have our own childhood memories. I'm sure you look back on your SW memories as well as I do.

Bossk, I know about the Jawas. lol. Mine all ended up capeless too.

The only OT-era carded figure I have is a POTF Vader.

I have all the original '95 line carded.

You wouldn't have a problem mixing OT-era weapons with the new ones though. Every figure in the new line has a blaster and a bazooka. They sorta went overboard in the weapons department IMHO.

Wow, I was under the impression everyone had still carded sets. Now I kind of feel stupid...
I remember always dreaming of having the Millennium Falcon and some other vehicles, but I never had the money, unfortunately. I managed to buy a Speeder Bike, which fell into pieces with the push of a button, but I somehow discovered that my old GI Joe vehicles were perfectly sized for Star Wars figures. So I used what few of those I had, and it worked quite well, I'll admit. That, and I turned our couch into a Star Destroyer.

Carded figures? Hell no. I played the hell out of these toys. The three carded that I have are ones that I bought within the last decade and a half. I was a kid when the SW toys came out. I didn't give a rat's ass about the potential collectible nature of them.

Thanks for the site, starkiller. Will have to check it out.

Nice avatar. "Mein Furher! I can walk!"

Is that who that is? I dind't immediately recognize him. I just found him lying around in the avatars, and thought, "That looks reasonably like me."

Mein Fuhrer? I thought it looked like Michael Corleone myself. But it's not a very good picture.

No, it's not supposed to be Hitler. I think it's supposed to be Dr. Strangelove from Kubrik's film of (virtually) the same name (The full title was "Dr. Strangelove, or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"). And ricarleite's is Radical Edward from Cowboy Bebop.

Don't know about yours, Galahad. Never seen that guy before.

That's right, mine is Ed from Cowboy Bebop!

Yours is Peter Sellers character in "Dr. Strangelove", dr strangelove himself. And that was a quote from the movie. I highly recomend it!

I don't know how I didn't see Peter Sellers in that avatar. The sunglasses threw me off, I guess. I would watch Dr. Strangelove if I wasn't so freaked when I watched Kubrick's movies. I'm not a huge fan.
You don't know who the person in my avatar's supposed to be either, thedalek? Shoot, now I don't know if I'll ever figure out...

BTW, I knew it wasn't Hitler. I'm not that blind. I just didn't know what Ric was talking about. But now I know.

I'm not the only anime fan here either, eh? I, too, have moved on from Cowboy Bebop. Which show do you speak of? As for Strangelove, it and Full Metal Jacket are the only Kubrick films I really enjoyed. My late grandmother laughed her head off while we watched it. She enjoyed it more than the rest of us.

I have yet to have enjoyed a Kubrick film. His stuff just doesn't do it for me, I guess. I've seen Spartacus, Full Metal Jacket, and 2001, and I walked away from them with a WTF feeling. I want to try Strangelove, but it's going to take a lot of my nerve to do so, after having watched some of Kubrick's other films.

I'm a huge fan of Kubrick's work, having seen most of it. While some movies have more "commercial" flavor to it (Spartacus, Full Metal Jacket, Shining), others may not appeal to everyone (2001, Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut). 2001 and Clockwork Orange are 2 of my 3 favorite films of all time (Fight Club being the other one), and absolute masterpieces. Dr. Strangelove comes right behind, as an excelent anti-war anti-nuke movie, with my second Peter Sellers acting (my favorite is The Party). Paths of Glory is quite interesting. I did not like Spartacus, maybe because Kubrick had limited influence over the script and direction (he was hired for the job).
